De Grandhomme retires from international cricket

They did that quite a bit during his career. McCullum was laughing about him one time, and I was like, dude, he has the same test average as you + he bowls.

Maybe he got word he wasn't in the plans for the Pakistan tour? I'm not really sure what to make of it really. He could play the 4 rounds of Plunket Shield in October and then go over and play in the BBL, playing all of the available domestic first-class cricket should be enough to be considered...

The squad looks worse than it could be because Allen, Phillips, Sears are on international duty and Nathan Smith is injured.

They don't even have Hetmeyer, rip.

    That's a shocking decision

    What a catch from Bracewell

This is turning into a really good partnership.

That's the way it should be. I don't feel sorry for people that are millionaires and have had 15 year international careers. It's more ruthless of the selectors to leave out performing players that have been grinding away in domestic cricket and don't have either of those things.

International calendar has us playing 2 tests in that Jan-Feb period, starting 16th Feb.

    Angus Fraser vs Darren Gough

Fraser, slightly. I've been watching some '90s NZ/Eng stuff on Youtube and Defreitas seemed pretty useful back then as well.

I'll admit that 237* against West Indies in 2015 was an amazing innings but that was one game. 9 times out of 10 that NZ team in those conditions are beating a side with one guy in their top 7 averaging over 32 anyway. His T20 World Cup numbers here, semi-final and final numbers here. His ODI...

I can't remember if it was egregious to drop Mills for 2012 Doug Bracewell.

Guptill sucks in white ball tournaments and while Williamson was good in this match he also plods along at 115 SR quite a bit. I'd much rather only have one of the two in the top 3.

I don't blame Boult for one second, any one of these guys could go out there and pull a David Lawrence and suffer a career-ending injury. Having said that, I don't want to support a team filled with T20 mercs that cherry-pick which internationals they play. The money is still great and there's...

*Official* 2022 New Zealand Tour of England, Ireland, Scotland & Netherlands

We're kind of sneakily building up a lot of legit international standard options in the wider limited overs squads atm. Mitchell, Allen, Chapman, Phillips, M Bracewell. Neesham seems too good in the T20Is to forget about him in ODIs. You've got huge competition for spots now. Fast bowling has...

McClenaghan had his moments but he also had a fair bit of luck early on, same with Corey Anderson around the same time.
