I considered it but I'm pigheaded and don't like it.

    Absurdly Awesome Cricket Stats

I think they did, but the innings finished with an agreed declaration time and still included lunch and tea breaks.

    Sid Barnes vs Lindsay Hassett

Lindsay Hassett's stats when others in his team averaged less than 31: 161 innings; 8182 runs @ 54.18; 35 50's, 27 100's (including 5 double centuries) This may not show how good he was on difficult wickets, but he definitely had some quality knocks when others failed. For example, he scored...

    Split these cricketers into tiers

That is quite assumptionary of you imo, because a lot on the forum when talking about who is better, are talking about who would win you more games and be more consistently impactful over the entire career, IE that's why a Shaun Pollock would perhaps be chosen over an Ian Botham even though at...

    Split these cricketers into tiers

...to score. Yes, some bats are better and will score more than their share, but they're all pretty much equally vulnerable at the start of an innings. Not to mention the fraction that each bowler gets of that 1/4 or 1/5 won't all be the same quality, volume, or overall value. So anyway, I think...

I see Conway passed 2000 careee runs this innings.

I can see us winning by an innings so it'd be pretty funny if Duffy got 0 wickets but a 50 (or hundred) on debut. Instant pub quiz question.

Not sure he'll need to bat in this innings, let alone be out there long enough to retire on a double century.

Better Batsman : Jadeja vs Imran

Then go ahead and list for BOTH. Posters list data for both players when comparing. I listed all data for both players in this thread when comparing. Don't just list 3 knocks by IK facing XYZ in his long career and call others lazy for not doing the work or not responding to this.

Surely open with Jaiswal and put Kirsten in the middle no? Kirsten actually played a few innings in the middle order

Still think it was a mid series. He scored 30 odd in all but 1 innings. And 74 was definitely good in context

He was the third highest scorer coz Amarnath missed 1 game in 86

he also had one county season and it was surprisingly bad for a batsman of his stature, IIRC he averages 34 and only got two hundreds in 23 innings. Definitely didn't like English pitches.

    All-Time World XIs: Discussion Thread

71 poor (though right after debut), 86 mid (3rd highest scorer), 74 good (low scoring + Great ton), 77 ATG (221 highlight), 82 doesn't counts for much (3 innings of 48, 24 and 2).

Better Batsman : Jadeja vs Imran

It's actually common sense that lower order is going to have more chance to make impact with 50+ consistently than ton. Most of the times, lower order , no matter how well they are batting, are not going to get to ton. For top order it's a different sitaution and ton can tell us something...

Better Batsman : Jadeja vs Imran

I heard you, and I disagree for lower order batsmen and tons frequencies logic. For top order batsmen, tons tells me something because they have enough time to score ton. For lower order, tons are rare due to position they bat. Some one can have 4,5 or 6... all are same, Differene of 1-2 tons...
