What we learned from the 5th Test

I don't want to change the current rules.I believe Stokes said that he was against it.He said he would have played in the 5th test if he knew he could be subbed incase he couldn't see the game through.I agree with him that that would be wrong.

5th Test (The Oval) - 31st July to 4th August

I think it was in the last Ashes series in England that Broad bowled more overs than Siraj in the 5 test series. That was also over 45 days.Kudos to Siraj but it shows that it can be done if bowlers prepare correctly and bowl in order to keep fit etc. As has been pointed out on here before Siraj...

5th Test (The Oval) - 31st July to 4th August

From an England point of view I think there are a couple of things to point out: 1 4th Test they had 5 sessions to bowl India out and didn't manage it. 2 5th Test it was only the 3rd time England have failed to win a Test match when they needed less than 50 after the fall of the 5th wicket.The...

5th Test (The Oval) - 31st July to 4th August

I would add Ganguly to that list prior to Kohli.

5th Test (The Oval) - 31st July to 4th August

He averages 35 in Australia in 14 Test matches with a top score of 89. He needs to contribute heavily in Aus this winter including centuries if Eng are to do well.I wouldn't write him off.

5th Test (The Oval) - 31st July to 4th August

The only way to improve as a player is to play regardless of the sport.

5th Test (The Oval) - 31st July to 4th August

Would he think the same if he was still playing for England now in their situation?Or indeed India who might not have wanted to carry on after the delay as the ball would get wet on the outfield?
