Cricketweb decides the best fielder ever

Oh I've read it, if you spent a minute to develop some objectivity it may just come to you how people can still consider your logic pretty thick. Mind you given your posting history, it was being pretty thick in itself to actually read it. Oh well though, they will just have to go in as some...

Cricketweb decides the best fielder ever

It's because of the WC really, people will always rate what gets stuck in their heads highly.

And yet you still have about 5,000 posts full of it in this place.

Cricketweb decides the best fielder ever

Then by default, you have pretty much admitted that there are pretty big holes in you ratings, even for players only since 2005... Some genius you are right?

Cricketweb decides the best fielder ever

You are very uneducated on the topic if you actually think all drops and attempts are kept track of on cricinfo commentary or whatever, and that it's all as simple as pretty much as typing "drop" on the find bar. If it was really that easy, fielding stats would be kept already, if not by...

Cricketweb decides the best fielder ever

Just did a little bit of statsguru on this. Since 2005 there has been: 456 matches involving 577 players with 8,679 catches made in test cricket. 1,503 matches involving 1,103 players with 12,577 catches made in odi cricket. 460 matches involving 904 players with 3.354 catches made in t20i...

Cricketweb decides the best fielder ever

So you are saying you have "data" on every single player that has fielded in a game since 2005 and have tracked their every catch made, dropped, and attempted in every single game they have played?

His speed is extraordinary. One of the more athletic guys to have played the game for sure. I think I like watching Australian fielders more these days than I do their batting.

Cricketweb decides the best fielder ever

Yeah, I'm sure you have every "very good" fielder to have ever played the game and all their catches, dropped catches, and attempts listed on your not weird at all cricket ratings.

Cricketweb decides the greatest bowler ever in a 64 player bracket. Contest thread.

Calling it now, it will be Warne vs. Marshall for the final, unless they meet beforehand of course. Though I'll admit there is a good chance for Barnes being in for one of them too.

I guess I'll vote just this once since I'm in the mood. Only voting for match ups where I'm familiar with both players. Dev Hadlee Warne Ambrose Waqar McGrath Donald Davidson

Cricketweb decides the best fielder ever

Nah, that's not a good argument. I'm pretty sure everybody in this list or any list of best fielding has dropped many. It's just that drops from the old days aren't as well remembered or even been watched by many in the case of some of the players.

    Cricket All-Stars 2015 - Sachin's Blasters vs Warne's Warriors

I know they have had their fun with the first game but for better viewing, they should at least eliminate the oldies that looked really bad for the rest of it.

Cricketweb decides the second best batsman ever. 32 player bracket, Contest Thread!

Not necessarily this thread alone, but I came to my conclusion from a combination of different threads overall, same for Border actually. I have been reading threads here a lot longer been posting tbh. You are welcome to have your own opinion but I don't think I underrate Kumar at all though...

Cricketweb decides the second best batsman ever. 32 player bracket, Contest Thread!

No, certain posters I can definitely tell underrates a player like Kallis from what you read in certain other threads. Some I can name off the top off my head actually because I have read from them that many times. I too rate Lara above Border though not by a whole lot, but Border deserves...

Greatest keeper batsman - Gilchrist or Sangakkara?

For me it's more baffling that the rest of the forum still hasn't figured out aussie and viriya gets off on people just responding to them and will never stop. Keeping on calling them out for crap posting is only encouraging them. If you want thread to die so badly just stop responding to them...

Greatest keeper batsman - Gilchrist or Sangakkara?

Before this thread, I thought viriya was comfortably going to be the worst analyzer of cricketers among the consistently annoying posters that I will meet on cricketweb. But then a fellow calling himself aussie came into existence all of a sudden.
