Dammit ....when will the revival happen ?

I didn't think Basketball was that big in WI. Figured soccer/track and field were the big things now. People still play cricket, depends which islands we are discussing. Main problem is the infrastructure hasn't changed/got worse since the 80s, the sport has stood still there, while other...

Death Bowling - A Case for the Defence

Respectfully disagree with this, I think finding ten overs from five different players is one of the interesting tactical elements of ODI cricket, your way also creates strange imbalances like in the SL Murali case. Personally I think bowling at the death depends on what each bowler is good...

Possible restrictions on bats being looked at

All the articles in the world won't change the image of Zaheer Khan flicking onside, and edging the ball over cover point for six.

Possible restrictions on bats being looked at

If you are doing that, just go the baseball route and remove all runs scored from edges. Of course you can't do that in cricket, for a variety of reasons. Nah, scoring from edges I can deal with, but when mis-hits and edges travel the distance (and its not like only Gayle or whoever is capable...

Mohammed Amir cleared to return with immediate effect

On a purely selfish note, I can't wait to see him bowl again. Will be very interesting.

Possible restrictions on bats being looked at

Balance favours batsmen - David Richardson | Cricket | ESPN Cricinfo Are they finally going to do something about this issue? If so, about time. Nothing pisses me off more than seeing ****ty batsmen mis-hit amazing bowlers for six.

Mohammed Amir cleared to return with immediate effect

Yeah, but thats not my problem. As an athlete, if my opponent wants to help me out to earn some money on the side then whatever. But an unfair advantage worth say 20/25% athletic improvement? That basically forces me into either cheating as well or my career becoming pointless.

Mohammed Amir cleared to return with immediate effect

Its interesting how strongly people feel about fixing in cricket compared to other sports. For me its bad, but doping is far worse.

As well as Bell has batted they can't afford to slow down through the middle overs on such a good pitch

Did I just watch one of the great ODI recovery jobs ever?

What is with NZ and all these massive freak partnerships?

The landscape is changing in World Cricket

Johnson may not be the best example, he's capable of batting properly. Definitely seen him miss hit sixes though. I'm reminded of Darren Gough as a batter, who looked great on his day, but would usually get caught in the infield before long. His average of 15 or whatever could be 25 today easily.

Definitely has helped tail enders. The type of player who was once categorized as 'slogger' is now a genuine batting threat.

The landscape is changing in World Cricket

Not sure if the bat size is the reason rather than a larger sweet spot. Its undeniable that these days even a tail ender can miss-hit sixes. Back in the day real miss-hits would be lucky to clear mid on. Boundaries also come into play, I remember when I first started watching cricket, you would...
