Kevin Pietersen Retires From ODIs and T20Is

Wasn't that the year before last, when he was dropped?

Kevin Pietersen Retires From ODIs and T20Is

Strauss doesn't play ODIs or T20s, I don't think he was ever saying he would play one and not the other. He just wasn't being picked.

Kevin Pietersen Retires From ODIs and T20Is

But if you let KP ditch the ODIs what about the others? We know that Swann feels the same way (ie. wants just tests and T20s) and maybe players like Broad could also pick T20s only. At what point will fans not buy as many tickets for ODIs and then the ECB lose lots of $$$?

Kevin Pietersen Retires From ODIs and T20Is

Would have thought the T20 + tests route would have been ideal, but I can see why the ECB want to stop players doing that as ODIs make a lot of money and if a number of players give up the ODIs it would be a blow. Not really that much of a shock I guess, given he's always going on about how...

    Mike Procter interview

And on that note... it doesn't seem like people are really up for debating without throwing insults or snarky remarks about at the moment... this is despite multiple moderator warnings, as well infractions being handed out. I'm closing the thread for a bit while everyone calms down.

    Mike Procter interview

I think this depends very much where you live. Where I live, and have done for the past couple of years, there is a significant (25% is a conservative estimate) Eastern European population, and I have heard things when out in town, and also seen things on a more official basis, that are much...

**Official** West Indies in England 2012

I don't really understand why the hatred towards Nick Knight really... sure he's not the best commentator ever but he's not said anything particularly unpleasant about any of the players, or started any kind of campaigning about them. I know he suggested KP be dropped at some point over the...

Guys, can you please not throw insults around and keep on track... it's an interetsing enough discussion already.

Also - can you please not preface your posts with comments like "I suspect that even engaging with someone like you is a complete waste of time" - this just leads to a bad atmosphere. The post is quite fine without it.

Would Stuart Broad make the world's strongest XI?

Everyone's decided Broad is a given, so have moved onto the more contentious issue of whether there are actually any Australians good enough to get in.

Would Stuart Broad make the world's strongest XI?

Oh god, if I have to have Clarke as captain then I wouldn't want to watch my own team. Everyone would be salivating every time he moved a fielder about how he's a genius the like of which we've never seen since Shane Warne. I think I'll have AB.

Would Stuart Broad make the world's strongest XI?

Well the proof of it all is going to be how Bell plays in India this winter, will be itstl. I'm a big fan, I reckon he's underrated... his main problem IMO is that he doesn't play confidently enough when he's in the middle of a poor run. On the AB/Clarke(/Bell) thing, AB is just such a stunning...

Would Stuart Broad make the world's strongest XI?

He's one of the most spectacularly bad at it that I've seen. I reckon Bell/Clarke/AB are all pretty similar in terms of quality, picking any one of them is just personal taste.

Would Stuart Broad make the world's strongest XI?

If Ajmal is actually in the world xi team, which he is for most people, picking Bell is the way to go as he doesn't have to face him and therefore we can discount having ever seen his series against Pakistan.

Would Stuart Broad make the world's strongest XI?

Thinking about picking a young gun - I reckon Pattinson is worth consideration against Philander for that spot. He's had not that much worse a start, maybe just that I've seen him more, but I reckon he looks good.

Would Stuart Broad make the world's strongest XI?

Thought it would be interesting given the discussion to see who would be in the world xi given averages over the last 12 months (min 5 matches, I have taken into account batting position, type of bowler etc) Cook Hafeez Younus Khan Chanderpaul AB de Villiers Ian Bell Prior Ajmal Philander...

Would Stuart Broad make the world's strongest XI?

Yeah, I'm not trying to do him down, he looks very good. It's just I'd think he needs to perform for a bit longer to be in a world XI. I agree to some extent about not needing to bowl at top-class batsmen, but the proof of whether he is world class will be answered more definitively then. After...
