***Official*** Australia in the West Indies 2012

Cowan isn't actually trying to score runs, just defensive shots to every ball. 7 off 45. Surely Australia don't actually expect to get all the overs in?

I must have missed something somewhere along the line with Australia, but why isn't Ponting batting at 3?

Very clever play there from Watto, give two almost lbw's to make the WI lose their referrals.

Australia are chasing a target down at a reasonably tough rate, and their opener has 4 runs off 24 balls. WTF?

Wisden 2012 cricketers of the year

Alan Richardson a good one, when you consider what was expected to happen at Worcs. Was a pretty epic effort. I had wondered about Sangakarra - it is after all supposed to be about having an impact on the cricketing summer and he certainly did have a big impact with the Colin Cowdrey lecture.

Wisden 2012 cricketers of the year

The 'not awarded' was because it would have been Amir, and essentially it was left over in case he was found not guilty but to also make a point. I doubt they'd ever do that again. Glen Chapple must get it, for sure. Charlotte Edwards surely before she retires, given the precedent set with...

    *Official* English Domestic Cricket 2012

England player availability is out. Bell and Strauss available from next week, Trott Prior and Cook have a bit longer. Most of the bowlers playing two matches before the test, Jimmy just one. Notts vs Lancs with Jimmy and Swann should be a good match.

    Racial Slur or Misunderstanding?

Thanks, must have been a misquote in the other article. Not that it really matters anyway.

Urgh. Good opening stand though... time for a Trott/Cook borefest. :)

    Racial Slur or Misunderstanding?

I think time has shown what rubbish most of the arguments have been. I mean, to exemplify the argument with the fact that Nasser Hussain considers himself Indian... did that mean he was a less committed and passionate Enland player? You'd have to say no, because Nasser was one of the most...

    Racial Slur or Misunderstanding?

Do I understand that the article is saying that a player born in one country cannot be properly committed to England? Surely that is way OTT if nothing else... no-one can seriously suggest that Strauss is not capable of being committed to English cricket just as much as any other player. Even...

Probably wanted Jimmy on that end, but also to have the first over with the new ball.
