Yes, it's very frustrating that there seems no sense of urgency from the teams or the umpires to speed the gane up abit in these conditions. It's been a standard slow leisurely pace that is standard for today's Test cricket. It just isn't 'king good enough!

The rain is about to return, and it will be heavy for a time. Players off the pitch for 30-45 minutes I expect.

Can you hear the drums Fernando? They're telling you not to bowl THAT full.

KP looks very confident and secure against these quicks - I wonder if he'll show the same confidence should Herath come on to bowl?

There you go, he's just played and missed - just for you.

Broad finally gets a wicket with a full ball. 184 all out SL

Play is finally about to start. Tremlett to wrap it up in the next four balls? Good start.

I think Englnd shoould be disappointed to have let SL get to 177. In those conditions they should have bowled them out for 150 MAX! I think Jimmy was actually swinging the ball too far - his outswingers were moving more than a bat width off original line, so the batsmen were not capable of...

Well, the ball was swinging for all the fast men so that is probably why Strauss persisted with them all day at Swann's expense. Not surprising really.

Much better bowling at the moment from Broad - has he got his Mojo back?

I see that the Roof and Fernando were up to usual no-ball tricks. Why can't the SL quicks control the position of their front feet?

With this Test being drawn and dominated by batting (and poor bowling), I looked into the results at Lords as I tought there were lots of draws in the recent past. There were more draws than wins but not as disproportionate a ratio as I expected tbh. In the past 5 years there have been 12 Tests...

Considering the pitch is on it's 5th day of use, it is still playing extremely well. This is a nailed on draw IMO. No more Tests should be awarded to Lord's until they produce a pitch that represents a fair contest between bat and ball. But there is more chance of the sun going supernova...

Dim light takes the players off the pitch 2 minutes early. KP has looked very determined and controlled in that period. I expect tomorrow he'll play himself in then attempt to bludgeon the bowlers all around Lord's. At least, that's what I hope he will do. Shame I have to go to work again.

England's run rate has dropped sharply since KP came in. That's not something I ever thought I would say.:-O
