I hate being the optimist here since I'm generally quite the pessimist about India in overseas tests, especially with Dhoni at the helm. But think about this: If it's flat and some pace is necessary, what is Philander to do? He's obviously a far better bowler than Bhuvneshwar, but both need the...

*Official* Third Test at the WACA

They barged into each other while Stokes was taking a run.

I'm biased cuz I don't care much for the odis on their own. But even if you're playing yourself, you really need to get in and see off the best bowlers' initial spells. Neither of these pitches were comparable to the road in Hobart, and even then, I doubt Kohli could have pulled off that...

Should have focused on just getting as many balls as he could out there in the middle. No way was SA ever going to concede 358

Not when Sharma comes in to bat at #5. Though a top order collapse is surely on the cards

Not saying India are going to be amazing, but way too much pessimism here. There are a couple of worrying signs, but I wouldn't go crazy. I expected two losses here. Shot selection decisions in ODIs are very different from shot selection decisions in tests. The biggest thing to take away from...

*Official* Second Test at the Adelaide Oval

Wow, anyone else catch the total contempt Warne had for Strauss' remarks there on Sky?

*Official* Second Test at the Adelaide Oval

Prior should be roundly criticized for how he batted, but seeing a 50+ score on the card will stave off the media's critics

An Extinct Breed ?: Great spin bowling allrounders

He looked ok in Australia with the bat, though he's clearly an FTB with the lazy footwork and lousy play vs the short ball

I still called it bullying for a reason...anyone who has a brain knows the BCCI was wrong and are clearly a bunch of jackasses

Not the actual reason for BCCI's bullying but if it helps your victim complex, go for it

I was impressed by Rohit not giving a single chance to Steyn or Morkel in the first match. In this match too, his defensive technique looked fine. His shot selection in ODIs has always been subpar.

Neither looked embarrassing and out of his depth yet

Yeah, Rohit and Rahane don't deserve that insult.

It was still an accurate statement. Someone should have told the Indians not to go for the win in these first two matches. Just get as much crease time as possible so that they're well-adjusted to conditions and better prepared for the tests.

Rohit's array of shots got the best of him trying to pull that off a length. Rahane looking good thus far

Oh crap, c'mon Rohit. I don't really blame him too much for that though. He got out playing a shot that he had latched on too. Good catch from Amla

C'mon Rohit and Ajinkya! I've woken up on 5 hours of sleep to watch you two bat.
