*Official* Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025

It kind of makes sense. I can't adjust the numbers for conditions, but raw numbers suggest Phillips is way better vs spin in the middle overs and Rutherford is better at hitting pace bowling at the death (Phillips averages 17 @205 SR vs pace since 2023 in the last 4 overs, Rutherford 33 @200)...

I find that idea really interesting. Think we may see a resurgence of slower wrist spinners with how modern t20 batsmen are used to playing. Guys like dubey stay in the crease and excel against faster spinners like Rashid khan but aren't use to using their feet against the slower spinners...

Shami is dreadful at those type of catches. Dropped plenty of C&B's at the champions trophy and was poor there.

Sounds like he's more a part time white ball keeper type rather than a pure keeper?

How does Lhuan go purely as a keeper. If he's halfway decent he may be the most exciting young player in the world RN.

So did NZ just bat way too slowly or bowl rubbish? You really shouldn't be setting a target only 2 wickets down and getting blown away like that.

Still remember him making that ton vs full strength SA in the touring game when they had jansen, rabada and prime nortje. Always rated him.

    T. Sangha has taken way longer to develop than I thought he would. 4 years ago I thought he'd be playing test cricket by now or thereabouts, but it feels like hes a worse bowler than he was at 19/20 right now.

India lost every toss at the t20WC in the WI aswell didn't they?

    Final – India v New Zealand – Sunday, March 9 – Dubai

NZ definitely could have been more flexible (sending mitchell in at 4 in both games vs india over latham a prime example) but they just don't have the flexibility that india do in these conditions. NZ have a ton of handy part timers + santner, while india can afford to play all of axar - Jadeja...

You guys are missing bumrah and haven't had a close call all tournament. Harshit bowled fine when he played and Arshdeep is quality. You guys would have been fine in any conditions. Not this dominant mind you, but still easily favourites.

Steve Smith retires from ODI cricket

Smiths an underrated odi cricketer. His numbers being below root/kane are more s result of CA batting him out of position. Thru kept trying to make him a #4 when he was actually very good at #3.

100% right. Should have specified that, my bad completely. They've got a #6 keeper who averages 25, a decent #8 batting at 7, and three young bats in the top 5 who average under 30 in FC cricket. I rate kellaway and dixon, and have heard mcdonald is good, but you can't stack the bowling when...

Vic's strategy of harper 6 with 5 bowlers has been a thing for ages. No idea why they persist with it. Sutherland's never been good enough for more than a few games to be a redball/one-day #7 and the rest of their tail are average #8's or worse.
