Stars consider quitting England or county contracts for IPL deals

The significant factor here is the ICC. If they start granting windows to these leagues with IPL stakeholders like the rumours have it, it's hard to see it going in any other direction than yearly franchise contracts. It feels a bit like mankadding. Once the stigma is removed, it'll be a no...

Harsh. If it wasn't for him, that home test might never have happened. https://www.irishtimes.com/sport/cricket-ireland-confirms-100-000-short-term-loan-from-chief-executive-1.3867709

*Official* Ireland in Sri Lanka 2022/23

It costs €1 million to host a test in Ireland and would count as no more than a friendly which is why the extra test added to this tour is fantastic, even if it ends up one-sided.

    *Official* Ireland in Bangladesh 2022/23

The ECB probably do more for Irish cricket than any other international board fixtures wise and will host them again for a test at Lord's in June. Ireland has already hosted its home games at County grounds and will do so again for the Bangladesh fixtures as the weather is crap this time of year...

    *Official* Emerging Nations Cricket Thread

Even if UAE lose tomorrow, they're through. Head-to-head is the first tiebreaker. About as ridiculous as the umpiring in this tournament. Didn't see it live but looks like Jersey did well to fight back in their match until Tribe got an absolute Barry Crocker

    *Official* Emerging Nations Cricket Thread

Word is the first tie-breaker if points are even will be head-to-head rather than NRR which is ludicrous but very on brand. No playing conditions have been officially published for the tournament, so just like the last women's World Cup qualifier, this might change if one of the more favoured...

Namibia's ODI status isn't under threat and neither is the USA's. Confusing, I know but for Canada or Jersey to advance to WCL2 for the next cycle and secure theirs, they need to finish above the UAE or PNG. From what I understand, Canada takes PNG's and Jersey will most likely go back to tier...

*Official* Zimbabwe vs Ireland at Harare : Jan 12-23, 2023

Quite a bit was said about whether it was wise to give a country full member status when at the tail end of a golden generation and also cut off the next from access to county cricket. It's been great to see this new crop being genuinely homegrown (with the odd Saffa/Zim)

*Official* Zimbabwe vs Ireland at Harare : Jan 12-23, 2023

One step in the right direction is the ICC is now broadcasting these series live on its website. Great win yesterday without Balbirnie, and Little is shaping up to be world class. Maybe one middle order bat and a strike bowler light from being a genuinely great side.

England test tour of Pakistan December 2022

Sorry if this has been answered already how come this is being streamed on YouTube by the PCB channel for free? Noticed this also happened with the matches in NZ last winter. I mean, it's fantastic for us who live in a country that doesn't have any access to watching any cricket legally. Did a...

    Stokes retiring from ODI cricket

One thing that has been awesome to see but hasn't been mentioned yet is just how much international cricket now gets played beyond the top 10-15 nations. Feel this is where the real inroads have been made when it comes to this t20i structure so would be sad to see them get scrapped altogether...
