Bugger. Definitely an extra bit of bounce on that delivery. No need for rest of them to give it away here. Set them 700

All the great players are great in their own ways but honestly Williamson makes batting look easier than any of them. Like he has got all the time in the world to hit the ball wherever he wants, no matter what the ball is doing.

Lovely stuff. Has looked in total control every innings this series bar second dig in Wellington but hadn't capilatised. Nice to chalk up another century, I don't know how much longer Kane will keep playing for but I am certainly enjoying it while it lasts

Smothered myself in sunscreen and other than a few pinkish spots here and there, managed to avoid any strong burn. Quite amazed given how strong the sun was yesterday

That is an outstanding effort with the ball

Interested to see how Santner goes here, you'd think Stokes at least will go after him

Can confirm it is roasting. Air temperature probably not that high but the sun is very strong and there's very little breeze. Not that any of that is an excuse for Southee

Dunno how it seems on tv but O'Rourke was utterly all over Bethell there, wicket looked imminent every ball

Blundell and the slips standing much much further back for O'Rourke here. First time I've seen him live, he's looking sharp

Looks flat as a pancake in the middle but I think it will turn later in the test, especially if this weather continues

Southee ROCKETING them down, it's so fast you can't see it

Live report from the ground: excellent first over by Henry. Southee with noticeably less snap at the crease, he's really just rolling the arm over, it's very noticeable

Just caught up on the highlights from the afternoon and evening sessions that I'd largely missed and while it is incredibly frustrating seeing our batsmen getting out in such infuriating ways again, I think in this case there's at least some blame down to the pitch being very two-paced. You play...

I mean this is the Southee benefit test match don't forget

First wicketless session in the entire series. Potts bowled well second spell but in general England been too inconsistent and while the batsmen have had a little bit of luck they haven't been challenged enough times in good areas, Young has 10 boundaries in his 42 which tells a bit of a story

Carse been all over the place in his spell so far but also looking a bit more dangerous

Pitch seems quite two-paced - it hits the live grass and carries through at head height to the keeper, whereas if it hits a dead spot it's knee height or below. England been a bit inconsistent with their lines and lengths early, haven't really made the most of the assistance that is there.

A truly abysmal performance; from having England 40-4 or whatever it was on the first morning it hasn't so much been a see saw battle with England slowly getting the upper hand, as a total capitulation in the face of aggressive batting and accurate bowling. It would be nice if this instigated...
