*Official* West Indies Tour of Ireland and England- May/June 2025

Fair enough. Yes our bowling is awful but I do think England's batting was very impressive. I'd be excited if I were an England fan. I'm excited by our batting, which when everyone is available is pretty formidable to say the least. But we need to completely rethink our bowling, it is...

Apparently due to England having less powerplay overs. Not that it matters, England would have chased 400 here.

Gosh our bowling needs a complete rethink... that is putting it mildly. Shamar needs to just focus on red ball cricket, he's not consistent enough for international T20 our 50 overs.

Rutherford looked ridiculously good before the rain. I've never really viewed him as having red ball potential, but his technique is looking really good at the moment. We really missed him in ODI 2, I honestly doubt we'd have lost if he had been there at 5 to finish the innings off.

Hearing Sherfane has been added to the squad for tomorrow and that Evin is fit now. So a much stronger batting lineup for us.

On our ODI batting, I had an epiphany last night. Shai Hope is the best ODI opener in our history, by far, at least statistically. He moved to number 4 to add stability to the middle order. However, Carty is now playing that role to perfection anyway. With Rutherford excelling at 5, and...

Only other thing I'd say is this was one of Shai's worst captaincy performances. He was far too laid back during that 6th wicket partnership. Shades of Holders captaincy. Not good memories.

He is so far ahead of our other ODI pacers, it's scary.

Root was superb, you have to give it to him. Obviously he should have been lbw, but these things happen and from that moment on he was God like. One good thing about this series and the flat pitches is that it's exposing our weaknesses for all to see, to the point where we at least have to try...

Imagine what we could do with Rutherford and Pooran instead of Hety, Jangoo and Greaves? We should have insane power at our disposal and instead it was pretty underwhelming.

    West Indies A v South Africa A

The SA squad is far superior to ours for this A tour. We picked an odd squad for the ODIs, it's more like Windies B at best. Having said that, I have to say Shaqkere Parris looks really good. Very classy, rotated the strike well in the middle overs. He's one to watch for next year, he had a...

If the next two are rained off and we lose the series, I really hope it teaches them a lesson. They were so lacklustre on Wednesday, the whole match was timid and half arsed. Performances like that are unacceptable and almost worthy of losing a series. Play with the intent they showed today...

Indeed yesterday was not a fun day for us. I don't mind the A team or women's loss, they were competitive and I expected both those lose. The senior team performance was unforgivable.

Honestly so fed up of our performances against Ireland. This isn't even a first choice Ireland bowling attack. We've spent most of the last year winning ODIs and generally improving. But this has been utterly abysmal, from the lackluster fielding to the batting in the first 15 overs.

It does seem they checked everything but actual cricketing ability and whether they actually deserve selection or not.... Having slept on it, the best rationale I can come up with is that they wanted some experience to lead the side for two years whilst the younger candidates hopefully earn...

Who else has played for the St Lucia King's? That seems to be a key criteria. Mathew Forde is likely a certain pick then. No way Alick and Hodge stay, IMHO. I'm expecting something far more left field than that, but let's see.

What on earth will the test team look like now? I genuinely have no idea. Chase batted at 5 for Barbados. Does that mean we have to suffer him batting in the top 6 again after averaging 19 in his last 40 tests? Can't win really unless the w/k bats in the top 6 and he bats 7, otherwise he'll...

Bajan captain and vice captain.... Not only is Chase Bajan, he also plays for Sammy at the St Lucia Kings. Frenism at play. Motie can kiss tests goodbye with Chase and Warrican in leadership positions. The guy averages 26 with the bat and 48 with the ball yet now commands a certain place...

Hmm. Interested to see if either plays 4 day cricket this year in preparation for Sammy becoming coach.

TBF to Jewel, he was dismissed in the first innings by one which pitched outside leg and then span to hit the top of off. Excellent intent in the second. I love watching him bat. Kevlon now has nearly 1000 FC runs at an average of 42. If he keeps that up by the end of the tournament, surely he...
