Worst fielder atm in international cricket

whats wrong with this thread Andre? It being 'negative' firstly does not make sense and secondly there is nothing wrong with it. Is there are rule on cricketweb that 'negative' sounding threads are not allowed? Phil Tufnell used to be pretty bad, and so was Saeed Anwar. Also, Imran Khan.

    Henry Olonga Interview

ok :) hey no biggie you did not have to change it. Anyways this ones much nicer ;) BTW, it will be awesome if this trend of interviewing test cricketers continues...I once read something about a possible AA interview, is it in the works? that will be great.

    The 2nd greatest ever ??

I dont think I have seen three more enigmatic and contradictory sentences uttered together :)

    The 2nd greatest ever ??

here is another question...maybe Eddie will be the most suitable person to answer this...In test cricket who is better, Sunny or Sachin? And another one...why is Sachin unable to play long innings in test matches? I think its to do with fitness.

    The 2nd greatest ever ??

thanks Neil! A second look reveals that although a bit inflated, it still is a pretty awesome record. I think the argument about a weaker bowling side with notables absent is a good argument, but things like scoring in a dead rubber, or once the series result is decided, are not valid arguments.

    The 2nd greatest ever ??

If you can dig up that article Neil, that will be great. Eddie, yeah I agree that no article explains the complete truth. But it gave details of all the WI series Gavaskar was involved in, and it was either Holding and Garner past their prime or they were not present in the team. Anyways I dont...

    The 2nd greatest ever ??

Among the batsmen I have seen, Viv Richards I think. I liked Javed Miandad as well, but maybe thats my Pakistani bias. I am not sure if anyone had the chance to read an article about Gavaskar on cricinfo, how his heroics against WI were against weak pace bowlers like Holder etc and not Garner...

    Pakistani fast bowling

two words: Imran Khan Before him everyone wanted to be a batsman in Pakistan. The Pak teams of the 70s boasted very powerful batting lineups, Majid, Sadiq, Mushtaq, Zaheer, Asif etc. and bowlers like Asif Masood got test caps! Imran's unique personality and charisma has attracted a whole...

    Whats your Fav. Shot?

I dont play circket anymore, and even when I did I was a bowler, and when batting just would hit the ball as hard as I could, not much of a stroke-maker. Still, to watch, I think the cover drive played on the up, by a left hander is quite elegant. And even though I would never advice them if...

    Javagal Srinath

oh ok, from your post I thought it was just srinath and not entire NZ and Ind teams. you are lucky I guess, as I have never had a brush with any celebrity on a flight, even though I have done quite a bit of air travel.

    Setting the platform...

Good point. Me too. Gordon was just explosive who could rip through any bowler or bowling attakc, and Haynes could do the same too but he was so solid, at times I used to think there was no way of getting haynes out, they may as well give him a single and get the other 10 out.

    Javagal Srinath

Kim a stupid question, completely unrelated to this topic.... I have heard many people with similar stories with celebrities, but I dont get something, were you sitting in first class, or was he sitting in the coach class like all of us other losers?
  16. R

    Javagal Srinath

I thought it will be nice for a Pakistani guy to initiate the topic for an Indian hero recently retired. I think he was an under-rated bowler. He had good pace and could cut the ball beautifully off the seam and had good length and line. I would go as far as saying that he was on par with Kapil...

    Spinners

If you guys are talking about turning the ball of the spinners I have seen Qadir could turn more than either Murali or Warne because he could turn it miles both ways. His legspinner spun a little less than warne perhaps but whereas Warne has basically no googly, Qadir had two googlies and one of...

finally some recognition for Mushy, good going Langeveldt. How good was Lance Gibbs?

    Spinners

the most intriguing spinner i ever saw has been abdul qadir. the most variety and the most stylish, with the follow through, the french beard, the appealing style, the run-up, the classical action. From stats Murali is tough to beat. Can Barnes be regarded as a spinner? I thought he was slow...

    packer vs non packer style

never heard this term before, but maybe the style promoted by the packer world series cricket (like the current aussie style of commentary perhaps, richie benaud, Ian Chappell). Non-packer style might be like the english style of commentary, like that of arlott or johnston or blofeld for...
