    Final – India v New Zealand – Sunday, March 9 – Dubai

Well played India. The spinners were superb. Pleased for Rohit in what will presumably be one of his last tournaments. Pleasantly surprised how close it was - went to bed when Phillips got out and was worried we might struggle to get much more than 200 but a good effort from Bracewell to post a...

    Final – India v New Zealand – Sunday, March 9 – Dubai

Someone at my work suggested during the week they should play Conway in place of O'Rourke (before Henry got injured). Might not have been the worst idea in retrospect 🤣

    Final – India v New Zealand – Sunday, March 9 – Dubai

Interesting stat after the Black Caps' catching has been a bit of an issue in recent times (maybe more in tests).

How did Randell get concussed? Good wins for Wellington and ND. Clarke with his 4th five wicket bag.

Semi-Final #2- New Zealand v South Africa- Wednesday, March 5th- Lahore

I had to look this up as I had zero recollection of this 2016 tour! I was thinking we hadn't been invited back since that 2012/13 debacle. https://www.espncricinfo.com/series/new-zealand-tour-of-south-africa-2016-936105

    Semi-Final #1- India v Australia- Tuesday, March 4th- Dubai

NZ fans gripe about Gary Stead's tendency to go for grizzled veterans for big tournaments (and generally) but Australia seem to have gone to the other extreme in promoting 21 yr old Connolly to bat in a position he has barely played before in a semi-final.

    12th Match - India v New Zealand

Nice classic flashback they showed earlier of Vettori in the 2009 CT semi-final. That game was one of the high points of his captaincy. Unfortunately missed the final with a hamstring injury...

    2024–25 NZ domestic season

Surprised Mckenzie hasn't bowled more. Seems like an X-factor player. This is brilliant from Hay. Relatively low-risk shots but terrific timing and power.

    2024–25 NZ domestic season

Wait so Guptill is on for Neesham although Olliver is listed as 12th man. Surprised Guptill isn't playing (if he's available).

That looks like an excellent salvage job by Neesham, Keene and Stackpole.

*Unofficial* New Zealand Black Caps Thread

A note of praise to Gary Stead and the NZ selectors. Sticking with Latham (presumably based on his past record in Pakistan) paid off big time.

    6th Match - Bangladesh v New Zealand

Dylan Cleaver: Bracewell is the Swiss army knife of the team. In Rawalpindi it didn’t turn as much as it did in game one, so he bowled a bit quicker and flatter. In Karachi, he gave it a rip. It shows how far he has come that he can toggle between modes like a Santner, who has been bowling spin...

Tim Roxborough has done 4 top XI's now. The first is the same as Styris's one except with Hadlee in for Southee. His second one is pretty good. BLACK CAPS ALL-TIME ODI 2ND XI: 1: Turner 2: Fleming 3: Jones 4: Mitchell 5: Latham (wk) 6: Styris 7: Elliot 8: Santner 9: Mills 10: Henry 11...

If there's a particular test series you're looking forward to you (like that Australia one in a couple of years) could look at just the month pass for Sky Sport Now then cancel after. It's $50 atm although going up to $55 a month soon.

    2024–25 NZ domestic season

It would be interesting to know what the medical team think about it. In purely cricketing terms he looked great in the Super Smash so even a limited role bowling 5 or 6 overs given there are several spin options would be handy.

Boult's 5/27 against Australia at Eden Park in the 2015 WC was another great WC bowling effort. I had been skeptical about his inclusion over McClenaghan and Henry but he was amazing that day. Henry's 3/37 in the 2019 semi final less statistically impressive but had a huge impact at a crucial time.

    1st Match - Pakistan v New Zealand

Yes, a few people are tasting it 🤣 I'm a Latham supporter but even I was starting to have doubts. Must be one of his finest knocks. Meanwhile this must be the season of Will Young's life. The performances in the India series and now a ton to open the Champions Trophy. Phillips has hit form at...
