Good time for Abbas to come out.

Best bilateral ODI series according to you ?

As a biased NZ fan some of my favourites: The 92/93 Aus v NZ (Aus win 3-2). Australia won the first two then NZ won games 3 and 4 with Crowe getting 91 in both wins. Jeff Wilson played a blinder in the 4th game and hit the winning runs. The series came down to Chris Pringle needing to hit a six...

I would rate Seifert and Allen's keeping over Conway's. Both did a reasonable job in the BBL as far as I could tell.

Yeah, they had some quirky players then who became fan favourites. Tufnell and Jack Russell come to mind. Tufnell's running outfield catch to get Slater was another one where it was great because it was so unexpected.

*Unofficial* New Zealand Black Caps Thread

Yeah, I found it particularly interesting how Aitkin, with his background in psychology, maybe almost tried too hard and tinkered with his approach too much. In contrast with Nathan Astle who he says brushed off all the technical advice they got and said he was sticking to his own game. The bit...

Atherton declaring with Graeme Hick on 98 has stayed with me.

A friend is furious that Seifert wasn't MOM. Had money on him paying $8.50.

No one from ND in the squad although I guess Mitchell and Kelly are basically ND origin players. Really happy to see Abbas and Kelly get opportunities. Abbas does seem to have had more bowling opportunities this season [years ago someone here posted footage of him bowling in an aged group...

    2024–25 NZ domestic season

Yes, it could keep him in Black Caps contention as back-up spin bowling all-rounder to Phillips or Bracewell.

    2024–25 NZ domestic season

Hazeldine gets Stackpole again. That's an epic win for ND. O'Donnell taking two blinders in the slips to go with his 150.

Nice analysis by the comms of O'Rourke with wrist angled in and Duffy towards first slip.

Similar to Kane's first ODI series.

I'm also upset about this terrible pun on the NZC site. https://www.nzc.nz/match-reports/volts-break-their-egg-at-last/

Unfortunately with the money in T20 comps now that's probably going to be hard to avoid. The Champions Trophy squad had Kane, Conway and Ferguson. I guess they could try the All Blacks approach regarding offshore players. It's less clear cut here as Seifert and Allen played in the Ford Trophy...

I'm actually cheering on the Pakistan batsmen so that great crowd get something of a match. Feel a bit sorry for someone like Nathan Smith who I'm sure would love to be bowling on this.

Good wicket for O'Connor. Uncanny that he's a left armer too like his dad.

    2024–25 NZ domestic season

I there is an interview with Foxcroft about his 28 months stuck outside NZ during COVID-19. It's impressive he returned after all that but he hasn't really dominated as much as he looked like doing at one stage. He's probably fallen behind in the pecking order with the emergence of Jacobs and...

    2024–25 NZ domestic season

151 today. I'm trying to think of some other 18 yr old batsmen who have debuted in recent times. Maybe Jacob Cumming. Kane obviously debuted when he was still 17. Going further back I think Taylor, Ryder, McMillan and McCullum debuted at 18.

    Final – India v New Zealand – Sunday, March 9 – Dubai

If they had really wanted to push the boat out with the batting order they could also have promoted Bracewell (similar to the promotion of Harris against Australia in the 96 QF).

    Final – India v New Zealand – Sunday, March 9 – Dubai

Chapman has seemingly giving away bowling (doesn't seem to have bowled in recent times in domestic cricket either). Not sure whether that was due to injury or form (Mitchell hardly bowls now either).
