Was Neil Harvey an ATG Test Batsman?

yeah, but the criteria I set is something not too herculean enough to be included just in top 10…

    All-Time World XIs: Discussion Thread

Guess Trumper was a better No.5 than an opener.

Was Neil Harvey an ATG Test Batsman?

It depends upon the quantum you include in ATG. For me in Test Cricket’s 148 year history of having 3,892 Cricketers top 30 with the bat fits in an ATG category.

Was Neil Harvey an ATG Test Batsman?

Borderline ATG. His first 2 years were absolute Bradmanesque and Final three became Bothamesque! He somehow filled the void after Bradman’s retirement till Chappel debuted.

Rahul Dravid vs Kevin Pietersen (talent)

Viv Richards. Always succeeded with not a great technique and hitting across the line was his major area.

What if Sachin Tendulkar was born in England. Do you think he would have ended up with a better record?

English bowling during the 90s weren’t great, apart from Gough maybe, but that wouldn’t be how his average turn out when he plays Against other teams for England in swinging conditions.

What if Sachin Tendulkar was born in England. Do you think he would have ended up with a better record?

220 odd Tests 16000+ runs 100s around same or bit low average around 51 English wickets weren’t as flat as Indian. But Cricket would have been more popular in England and maybe a less religious in India.

    BJ Watling vs Ravindra Jadeja

Knott would win that. Although Bowling might have more emphasis than Wicket Keeping, Still Knott is in the tier 1 category of Wicket keeping, compared to Tier 5 or 6 of Jadeja. So Knott edges there. Batting is almost similar.

    Allan Knott vs Ben Stokes

    Allan Knott vs Ben Stokes

Here is Bradman saying in 1993, that the overall standards have improved in Cricket, which must imply that the pace of fast bowlers also should have improved.

    Crowe/Hadlee vs Ponting/McGrath

My fault. He was only captain in the last Test.

    Crowe/Hadlee vs Ponting/McGrath

All the greats of the Golden Australian team of the 90s and 2000s had left Australia by then, all except Ponting. The void created by the leaving of McGrath, Warne, Gilchrist, Hayden etc couldn’t be filled quickly. Australia also reached a rating of 143 during Ponting’s tenure. No team since...
