Cricket Web: All-Time Legend
Based on his list I can surmise, he values:

- Longevity
- Rates ability against pace and spin equally
- Rates based on peak
- Disregards peer opinion almost totally
- Rates based on away record

Might not go to the extent of Cook but I do believe Weekes is quite overrated here
If anything he's underrated here, was rated extremely high from everyone who saw him, he just played one series in Australia with an injury and another in England with an injury, one series in England where he was fit, he averaged 56 with the bat and 80 in FC.

lol I like Kimber but his book isn't confirmation of anything for real, and Gavaskar over Sobers is a dead giveaway of India catering.
Dude has:

Hutton at 4
Boycott at 26
Graeme Smith at 27
Greenidge at 28
Cook at 29
Sehwag at 33
Hayden at 34
As well said Barry would be in Top 10

He pretty clearly Overrates all Openers, and Gavaskar at 7 is far from outrageous.

So there is almost none evidence to suggest how he'd done away against the top teams of his time?

Sadly No, only the 1950 England series where he got the Wisden Cricketer of the Year for that, and England thought they got off the hook easily because they got a lucky run out of Weekes, he averaged 56 in tests and like 80 in FC, dominating Bedser/Trueman etc. Not much in Australia.

How much did he play Bedser/Trueman though really?

Best ever after Bradman and Hobbs tbh
