  • Hi mate.

Unfortunately don't think there is any doco on the internet. There was definitely stuff on the TV programme Carte Blanche that delved into it all.

He had an Afrikaans background (but well educated sp spoke good English) but his wife was English-speaking and often the children will then grow up English-speaking like Corbin and Eathan. Not sure if any help but did find some stories on situ and Corbin afterwards. Corbin and Eathan looks close with their mother so those accusations of poison were proven false in the end. Corbin got the full inheritance.

No it's okay, the simulator I made doesn't even use initials at the moment (just lists full names wherever possible, more or less) so it might not even add to the experience, and even if it did it'd take a couple of minutes to change once you gave me the list haha. I'm just internally irritated that my database is wrong in the same ways Cricinfo's is and would feel superior if it could be rectified in some way.

For starters though, what are Nortje's actual initials? I think that's what started the conversation.
Nah no need to apologise, it's something I used to mention in lineups threads but it'd been too long between drinks so I didn't say anything haha. I might make a separate one for the proper season with better instructions
Not a completely necessary request but if you go in to a game unchanged, if you could make a note of that at the bottom so I didn't actually bother copy/pasting your paste it'd be good lol
I can't sim it yet because I'm waiting for Flem to name a lineup but you've got a semi final in the CWPL preseason to name a lineup for ftr
Always felt TTG were vulnerable because, except recently, they win ****-all but they field teams at all levels so eh.
haha, oldest debate in grade cricket eh. Fairly sure they've been talking about merging Port and Woodville since the 90s. Merging Elizabeth and Salisbury into Northern Districts was a reasonable step, though.
Yeah this season was really disappointing eh. How a bloke as talented as Weatherald keeps missing out baffles me. The bats just didn't stand up.
On George’s batting, one thing I remember about the Shield final was him nearly getting run out a few times, at least one mid-pitch mix-up with McIntyre. Think that said a lot about George, just didn’t respond to the pressure of the occasion. At all. Not arrogance, just didn’t acknowledge it was even there. One of those guys who’d back himself to make whatever situation good.

Was the same in indoor cricket too. Dunno how many times he’d **** around with leggies and bowl wide after wide and whilst the rest of us mortals were grumbling then he’d clean bowl some poor bastard 5 times in a row next over.
Actually back then he was playing for the team I started at Woodlands ICA. Always good hangs afterward, very sweet guy. Mate of mine also on the team was a manager at a factory he was working for, hence how we procured Shield winning rabbit Shane George for us. Actually listed his Aus A games on his CV, haha. What a legend. I was there at the Shield final too - awesome day.

Truth is I don’t know what happened to him. I was injured then went away for a European holiday mid-season and when I came back, the team all hated each other and had quit. It was a little shocking, to be honest, because when I left everything seemed good.

I’m still in touch with Scuba Scuderi so I’ll ask him see if he knows anything. He lives on my side of the world these days so doubt he’d have heard but you never know.
