Javagal Srinath vs. Mohd Siraj – the better test bowler

Srinath had a 49 test run from 1993-2001 where he averaged 27.87 overall, taking 197 wickets, and it includes home tests (where he was actually better, average wise, but lower WPM wise). That said, this period also includes poor averages in Australia, NZ and England but he was great in that one...

    Better All Rounder Pair

This is crazy - for what team? If it's for a World XI ATG team, then sure, you wouldn't pick someone like that. If it's for country XI ATG teams, he'd still get into quite a few. If it's just for country teams in general at any given point in time, he'd get into most.

    Kapil/Jadeja vs Botham/Flintoff

Yea the whole argument is a whole other thing that I won't get into (Botham > Jadeja, especially for peak for sure - and his peak basically was his career really...) but conjecture about Jadeja's potential performance in South Africa is neither here nor there. And while the pitches may have...

    Kapil/Jadeja vs Botham/Flintoff

Pant as well, shade above (37) Then again, Bhuvi Kumar averages 33 (albeit in 2 tests) Vihari randomly score a 40* in one innings and averages 60 because of it I see no reason why Jadeja, a far better bat, would struggle for 25 given enough tests to prove himself. The problem with this...

    Kapil/Jadeja vs Botham/Flintoff

He was actually injured in the last series, he wasn’t dropped unlike previously. But if your point is that it wasn’t deliberately missing it or something fair enough - he did miss that. I still don’t see how he suddenly averages a measly 15 or whatever you imagine when worse, or at least batsmen...

    Kapil/Jadeja vs Botham/Flintoff

By scoring 10 more runs than the #6/7? Yea he really showed him up there. Don’t let KL’s flashes of occasional brilliance fool you. Short of some crazy later career resurgence, he’s largely been very average, which is shown up by his mid 30s average over whatever number of tests he’s played.

    Kapil/Jadeja vs Botham/Flintoff

Especially away from home (and even at home to be honest), I have long been clamouring for Jadeja to bat 6. 5 is definitely too high for him, but he could do a good job at 6, though best at 7 probably. But given our balance issues and that whatever shitty bat we pick barely gives us better...

    Kapil/Jadeja vs Botham/Flintoff

Kohli averaged 40+ on the last tour, and he was washed up by that point. Jadeja has been a better bat than him since 2020 (see above). KL averaged 37 last time. There’s an argument for Jadeja as well, though KL has been shifted around the order and been in and out (best at opening and the...

    Kapil/Jadeja vs Botham/Flintoff

Wait a second why are we suddenly saying Jadeja would struggle to average 25 in South Africa? I wish we had him last time we toured there, Ashwin can’t bat #7. And Jadeja is also really a better bat than at least half the spuds we’ve selected over the years from 1-6.

Better Batsman : Jadeja vs Imran

I’m sure subz will try to peddle the “it’s inflated by his home tests” **** for his batting again

    Better All Rounder Pair

Good thing Cricinfo exists eh? Averages 59.42 away from home at #6 (although obviously a lower number of tests) Also, you really need to stop with this "Jadeja not being a good bat away from home" myth - I've pulled you up on it before. He actually averages higher away as a batsman - over his...

    Better All Rounder Pair

This would be the same Jadeja that averages 51 batting at #6?
