  1. Vaughan: Fredalo ruined the world cup

Good luck getting along in the English team now on, Michael.
  2. Funny Shoaib

Listen, we get it. Dravid is the most boring batsman ever, we're jealous we don't have a bowler who breaks down every other game, and wish Ganguly slapped Chappell more often. We're truly pathetic.
  3. The race to sign Whatmore!

You can take all the serious objections you want, doesn't mean Gavaskar and Kapil become know it all Gods. Kapil had a dismal rtecord as coach, and a person who allowed himself to be hired as coach on the basis of reputation as a player has no business rating other coaches. And the less said...
  4. The race to sign Whatmore!

It would be presumptive to say they have an advantage of seeing Indian coaches. Kapil was a dismal failure as Indian coach, and Sunil prefers air conditioned commentary booths to the coaching role himself. Besides what knowledge do they have of how good Ford or Whatmore are, considering that you...
  5. The race to sign Whatmore!

Excellent post. Besides, nowadays I see these idiots on the telly stating with unflinchable conviction that Indian coaches are as good as their foreign counterparts. Heres a simple question: If they're really that good, why aren't the other countries hiring them? The only example of a foreign...
  6. The race to sign Whatmore!

Chappell cops a lot of flak. India went into decline before he even entered the picture. Wrights last year in charge was the beginning, and its surprising no one takes him to task for not becoming more stren towards the end. Its ridiculous that Sachin Tendulkar comes up with gems like "consult...
  7. Chappell-Hadlee set for December

Well, considering how India get lambasted for anything they do, I thought it'd only be fair to provide a token post of criticism when Aus-NZ do the same annually.
  8. Chappell-Hadlee set for December

    Just another money making scheme.
  9. Opening Batsmen for the All-Time Test XI

Gavaskar and Hobbs. Can't go wrong with any combination among these 4, to be honest.
  10. Why does cricket need a strong West Indies?

Agree with the first post. Cricket needs strong teams. Full stop. Don't give a rats behind whether that set of teams includes the West Indies or not. If twenty years down the line, Ireland end up replacing West Indies in the top 8, I'll have no problems. Viv, Marshall and co are gone, deal...
  11. **Official** 'My Current World XI' Thread

Theres a difference between having to do it almost every test you've played and in doing it once in a while.
  12. The game's new conscience

Yes mate, and the quicks will still do well when the conditions suit them. The suitability of conditions is a common factor for both the sub-sets and cancel each other out. What remains is the condition of the ball, which you seek to make more suitable for the quicks than the spinners. There...
  13. The game's new conscience

But it is a disadvantage to the spinners nevertheless. There is a reason why spinners use the old ball better than the new one, and prolonging the life of the new ball would only delay and reduce the spinners' impact on the game. Also, you could simply turn the quoted logic around and say that...
  14. The game's new conscience

Perhaps because the spinners wouldn't like it.
  15. The game's new conscience

I'd seriously consider standardising bats within narrower ranges. Bowlers don't get to choose their weapon, seems unfair to allow batsmen to benefit from the newer bats that seem spring loaded, to put it loosely.
