Hogg and Symonds are both good cricketers, but you just can't go past Symond's batting. He along with Afridi, Razzaq and Jayasuriya are some of the most destructive players on the ODI scene.

Why not?, ATM Hogg definately will be in the side to the Caribbean next year even if he doesn't play every game (even though he should).

    Quick Question

Whoever loses on saturday between England/Australia will they be out of the competition?, at least thats the idea i'm getting.

Lets say England loses, but beat the windies in their final game. Australia come back and win their final two games but India & the windies lose their final two games and thus leaving group A at the end with Australia winning two and losing one and all of England/Windies/India with a victory and 2 defeats each, then run-rate would send the next side through.

Not quite aussie, basically a team will go through on 1 win if either West Indies or India win all three of their games and the remaining teams beat each other. Similarly 1 team will go out on 2 wins if either Australia and England lose all their games and the remaining three teams beat each other.

To put into simple terms, if England lose they're definitely out if WI beat India. If Australia lose they're definitely out if India beat WI. A rained off game or tie for WI v India match would also knock the loser out.

It would take a miracle to for Australia to be knocked out if they won their remaining two games, they would have to win extremely narrowly for that to happen and have other results go a certain way.

England could still be knocked out if they won their remaining two games because their NRR took a bit of a beating against India, two relatively small wins with WI beating India and India beating Australia would probably be curtains.

There's no way Pathan should be dropped from the one-day side. In tests, ZK should definitely be there.

Well considering that India play the West Indies as one of their final two games, that's not really possible... at all...
Sreesanth said, "Next ball he was beaten and I said, 'is this the King Charles Lara? Who is this impostor, moving around nervously? I should have kept my mouth shut for the next ball - mind you, it was a length ball - Lara just pulled it over the church beyond the boundary! He is a true legend."

Sorry, I was speaking in general (i.e test side). One day side is there for the experimenting, so not a big deal who plays there.

Yeah, I saw that. The ICC sure are weird lately with their weird communication screwups. I do think Gayle overstepped the mark, though, contrary to what Sarwan says.

    Gayle completely lost the plot.

Given that he is generally such a laid back character, one would think that he reacted to something that was obviously missed by the umpires.

However, this was as bad as we've seen in recent years and his fine was little more than a slap on the wrist for really atrocious behaviour.

If Ponting had been the one involved, I can imagine that there would've been calls for his head and such a paltry fine regarded as favouritism.

I agree that Gayle's behaviour was atrocious. But stirring the favoritism pot using Punter as an example isn't the best ploy, considering that Gayle is usually of good behaviour, and Ponting's on notice after a number of infractions.

Hoping for a good win against England. I think we'll come out fired up and lift the intensity a few notches.
