I don't think Pollock is rated much lower, he is rated a little bit lower I feel though. Like both made the B team in my World XI Series (Ponting made C).Curious why Headley is rated so highly. I know his stats but there is little between him and Graeme Pollock when it comes to raw stats but the latter is often rated much lower.
That guy also has Chanderpaul over Steve Waugh iirc.Jarrod Kimber has Headley #18 and Pollock #35.
He also has Grace at #16. Which is not as much bad as it is purely confusing.Jarrod Kimber has Headley #18 and Pollock #35.
Shouldn’t be rated based on what your teammates did. Should be rated based on what you did.He also has Grace at #16. Which is not as much bad as it is purely confusing.
Re Headley and Pollock, Pollock had good and decent batsmen around him. Barlow, Lindsay, Goddard, Irvine, later ofc Barry. Headley did the biggest carry job in the history of the game. That WI side had so so **** batting except him. He was called Atlas for a reason.
I fear it's highly erroneous to think your performance isn't highly influenced by your team mates.Shouldn’t be rated based on what your teammates did. Should be rated based on what you did.
What I’m specifically saying is, I don’t give Hadlee some sort of weak team bonus over say McGrath and Marshall because he played in a weak team. Same as Headley and Pollock.I fear it's highly erroneous to think your performance isn't highly influenced by your team mates.
I get your point, but I give them as I think they inherently had a harder job. What I’m specifically saying is, I don’t give Hadlee some sort of weak team bonus over say McGrath and Marshall because he played in a weak team. Same as Headley and Pollock.
you don’t think periodHeadley and I don't think it's close
lol.Headley is better and it isn't all that competitive, Ponting much more akin to a Weekes than to a Headley.
You think Headley and Chanderpaul/Jayawardene is close??you don’t think period
of course it’s close with the guy who scored 13,000 runs over 50 wplaying 170 tests
ghe only great batsman who is not close to Ponting is Bradman
this poll result is ridiculous
I appreciate your commitment to cricket history etc but this is just misguided. It's clearly true, Both were the alphas of wonderful batting units, had some flat pitches at home where they were uber dominant and had mixed results overseas. Ponting is more accomplished against pace while Weekes against spin. Ponting is ahead because Weekes often had health issues. Headley is clearly better than both and he is also extremely close to being a top ten Batsman ever.
