Bumrah's record vs Australia is the stuff every English bowler dreams about
I like how I am living rent free in some of your head.@Majestic please go back to indiancricketfans or pakpassionnor wherever it is this sorts of nonsense gets aired
Obviously, but it does in this case.Longer career doesn't always mean greater career.
LongevityLongevity vs effectiveness,
Yep, New Zealand and threat of a big injury are the only things that keep him away from being a perfect bowler.Pretty significant difference in quality here and Bumrah has played almost 50 tests, which is hardly a small amount. He's had a near Michael Holding level career already and I obviously wouldn't take Anderson over him either. Would vote Anderson if Bumrah'd only played 20-25 or something.
True.Only his home sample is small.
His away record and his record against Australia is what hurts him. Post 2010, he was still only taking 3.2 wickets per match away from home.Anderson’s record is pretty impressive if we count from 2014 onwards. In his final 10 years of his career, he played 97 tests and picked 364 wickets at avg of 22. This includes a relatively below par final two years in 2023 and 2024.

I think he was simply a mediocre bowler in 2000s and post 2010, he became a really different bowler who operated at almost ATG level for next 12-13 years.
Possibly. But not sure what 58 tests in that era is equivalent to in modern era.. if it is still around 60 tests, then I'd still take an Anderson's career as it would add much 'more value' to your side than a Garner's career. You'd get a very good bowler for 20-22 years. (He could still play tests right now).Would you have Anderson over Garner also?
Garner for his batting.Would you have Anderson over Garner also?
