Bavuma's slow innings put pressure on the other batters to get a move on , hence the collapse..but atleast he's still there holding us together

Mulder needs to bat in the top 5, probably at 5. 7 is too low down for him when they need quick runs.

Bavuma's biggest problem is the same one he has always had, he just struggles to accelerate. And with Rickelton having a poor game and Stubbs just not performing his liability becomes very obvious.

I wonder if Rassie is going to try and outlast Temba in terms of fitness. If they both retire before 2027 they might as well make Stubbs or Mulder bat at 3. How many guys in the history of the game have been a Test number 3 and an ODI number 7? It seems so backwards. Plenty guys bat up the order in LO but down in Tests.

Breetzke for 3

290 runs in his first 3 ODI knocks. Deserves belief and patience others get afforded.

Again, I am not saying that Bartlett is the answer but what’s the point in playing Ellis & Dwarshuis in front of him

Just don’t get it at all

Burger new to the side as well but bowling such a junk with him hardly bowling in the last year.

We were used to such discipline in our bowling and it's something not spoken about enough in our white-ball cricket how far our bowing skills have fallen off.

Stubbs needs some runs in this series to justify even being picked for squads, currently he's averaging 31 which is worse than De Zorzi (37) , Breetzke (90+) , Brevis will be given time after that T20 series, Pretorius is waiting for a chance , Miller not done with odis yet , even Jason Smith who makes himself available for A tours averages 44 in his 3 odis, Stubbs does have talent but competition is tough , if I were him I would play NZ A , and also not skip series like the tour of Zimbabwe, he's not that guy yet.

Bavuma does at least average more when SA win (48 win and 39 lose). Not as bad as Trott who averaged pretty much the same no matter what, he just played the same innings every time no matter what the pitch or situation.

But unless the spinners have an impact (probably less likely under lights) this is looking 30-40 under par.
