he also had one county season and it was surprisingly bad for a batsman of his stature, IIRC he averages 34 and only got two hundreds in 23 innings. Definitely didn't like English pitches.Yup:
1971: Poor
1974: Fine
1979: ATG
1982: Poor (but 3 inns only)
1986: Poor
He was the third highest scorer coz Amarnath missed 1 game in 8671 poor (though right after debut), 86 mid (3rd highest scorer), 74 good (low scoring + Great ton), 77 ATG (221 highlight), 82 doesn't counts for much (3 innings of 48, 24 and 2).
Still think it was a mid series. He scored 30 odd in all but 1 innings. And 74 was definitely good in contextHe was the third highest scorer coz Amarnath missed 1 game
Yeah the 1980 Somerset season... Although weren't including FChe also had one county season and it was surprisingly bad for a batsman of his stature, IIRC he averages 34 and only got two hundreds in 23 innings. Definitely didn't like English pitches.
His record against quality bowling is exceptional in FC cricket as @peterhrt postedas far as First Class Cricket goes, Gavaskar averaged 43 in England and Merchant averaged 62, though Merchant's big England session came right after the war so I can't vouch for the bowling quality.

Hey it's done And dusted. I would rather delete my account.want an Iyo Sky pfp?
Yes honestly it does. Its not the name they’ve used on scorecards, its not the name I’ve seen over and over on statsguru and other websites, like cmon.Like if Donald George Bradman is DG Bradman, why does Rahul Sharad Dravid being RS Dravid bug you?? I have tried a plethora of naming conventions, and it's like the best of the worst. Also re Murali: Deshbandhu is a title, it's like naming Hutton, SL Hutton
I like how its only brought up when talking about Willis.Ok so no balls started getting counted against bowler stats in late 1983.
Pant, much better glovesman. If both Procter and Dev make this team, which I think is likely, then the keeper should bat at 6. By original choice was Waite, but don't think he is suited there, let alone Healy. So Flower or Pant??
