Think Bhuvi can be considered actually. Played some extremely clutch knocks.Though the tail is pretty weak now

Merchant could open as well for mankad if you want to sure up the batting furtherKapil has a MoTS and 3 MoTMs but like Jadeja, he almost turned into a batting all-rounder largely. Sure he had plenty of moments with the ball, some especially in very key games, even a couple good Series, but yeah.
Yeah, Merchant walks in if we include FC. But Test only, he just had one good but not exceptional tour.Merchant could open as well for mankad if you want sure up the batting further
Actually think will go Bhuvi for Siraj. Siraj did much better with the ball, but Bhuvi was absolutely clutch there with the bat.Think Bhuvi can be considered actually. Played some extremely clutch knocks.
Both tours were good I'd say... What about Sunny vs Merchant?Yeah, Merchant walks in if we include FC. But Test only, he just had one good but not exceptional tour.
Accounting FC, Merchant. He legit averages more in England in FC games than anyone bar Don, Headley and Jimmy Cook, even English batters, and had a rep for stickies. Test only it's Sunny. Both tours were good I'd say... What about Sunny vs Merchant?
Here's something @peterhrt posted a while ago.Merchant faced Voce, Verity, Bedser etc there... So it's not like he was facing crap bowlers either
Even purely tests, I'd say Merchant has a case. Maybe not ahead of Sunny but debatableAccounting FC, Merchant. He legit averages more in England in FC games than anyone bar Don, Headley and Jimmy Cook, even English batters, and had a rep for stickies. Test only it's Sunny.
That's a bowler too short imo. Also if Dev plays he does so as a no 7 or if Jadeja/Mankad plays as wellGavaskar

You need another bowling option. As good as Ganguly was in Eng, he doesn't cut itGavaskar

I think even with one outright poor, one mid, one fine and one good series, the ATG tour takes it comfortablyEven purely tests, I'd say Merchant has a case. Maybe not ahead of Sunny but debatable
two average tours, two poor tours and one ATG tourI think even with one outright poor, one mid, one fine and one good series, the ATG tour takes it comfortably
That's the reason really I feel Mankar is needed. He legit had one of the best matches with the bat there. 40 with bat and 33 with ball taking 20 are pretty solid returns. You need another bowling option. As good as Ganguly was in Eng, he doesn't cut it
Yeah that's why I have him ahead too, because of the ATG tour. But merchant was good both times he went there.I think even with one outright poor, one mid, one fine and one good series, the ATG tour takes it comfortably
I did a breakdown of each one. It was one poor, one mid, one good and one ATGone average tour, two poor tours and one ATG tour
Mf how did you do an analysis that led to four different serieses when he toured England five timesI did a breakdown of each one. It was one poor, one mid, one good and one ATG
Yup:Mf how did you do an analysis that led to four different serieses when he toured England five times
71 poor (though right after debut), 86 mid (3rd highest scorer), 74 good (low scoring + Great ton), 77 ATG (221 highlight), 82 doesn't counts for much (3 innings of 48, 24 and 2).Yeah that's why I have him ahead too, because of the ATG tour. But merchant was good both times he went there.
Good vs great + poor + very poor.... Debatable
