With Brook you have half a chance of doing something(hes a great- would be no.1 bat in nearly every team right now), but the rest are hacks even the star batter Joe Root- hes Cummins bunny down under, i dont think he averages much more than 30 in Australia.
He averages 35 in Australia in 14 Test matches with a top score of 89.
He needs to contribute heavily in Aus this winter including centuries if Eng are to do well.I wouldn't write him off.

India has developed some proper resolve in its cricket. Started under Kohli and Shastri. They keep coming at you even when they’re down on troops and matches or series seem lost. I think that’s what made the home loss to NZ so weird - they just rolled over, and for the last 8-10 years that’s just not something they’ve done really
I would add Ganguly to that list prior to Kohli.

Crawley coming away from the series with his place still seemingly not in question because he scored a few quick fifties is hilarious. Some of the flattest pitches England have ever rolled out and he still only managed to average 32. In a series where every established batsmen worth a damn piled on the runs. Him averaging single digits would've been worth it for England if it finally got him the axe.

So frustrating from an England perspective.

Feels like they get selection wrong almost every Test. Overton was appalling (as we all knew he would be). Why on earth would you not pick Sam Cook on a surface like that?

Rob Key has been in charge for 3 years and we are yet to win a big series. He’s a clown who is far too obsessed over how fast a bowler can bowl instead of skill. Would love to know what was going through his head as he watched Tongue bowling all those 88mph wides in the first innings.

The continued and repeated mistakes of picking absolute rubbish like Crawley and Pope. I’m at the end of my tether with both of them. I’m sick to death of seeing their stupid faces in an England shirt.

“Oh but Crawley will suit the Australian wickets”. I bet you he doesn’t. I bet he’s **** there too.

He averages 27 in 3 Test matches in Australia with a top score of 77.

Dawson didnt really make his case, not many runs, 1 wkt then misses 2 important catches as sub. I reckon theyr prefer Rehan, hes more bazball, dawson more CC pro. However theyve got about a dozen white ball matches in september, maybe dawson can do something in those to influence the selectors.

From an England point of view I think there are a couple of things to point out:
1 4th Test they had 5 sessions to bowl India out and didn't manage it.
2 5th Test it was only the 3rd time England have failed to win a Test match when they needed less than 50 after the fall of the 5th wicket. The other two times were in the 1880's and 1900's.

A freak injury to Woakes early on and the selction of Overton was always going to make it harder to win. England would have won this comfortably if Woakes didn't get injured

But the 2023 style of reckless bazballing continues to haunt England. There was no need for Brook to try and smash a 3rd boundary in a row. Jamie Smith also tried to chase the ball too many times. This was a proper bottle job from England

Siraj is a brilliant bowler, my opinion on changed has changed completely after this series. Im also glad Prasidh ended up a useful seamer, he has all the goods and attributes needed.

2-2 is a fair reflection of this series, a 3-1 scoreline wouldn't have reflected how close the games were.
