Ok I'm Stupid. I meant to say it's closer than their numbers suggest. Not that close overall, but certainly not Haze vs Lee.No they aren't. Haze and Statham is debatable

One of these things is not like the others.don't really think Kapil is an ATVG bowler but he is very good, above Starc/Johnson/Gillespie types
Ok Gillespie is better than those guysOne of these things is not like the others.
I think that’s a fair rating of Kapil though, somewhere close to Starc and Johnson.Ok Gillespie is better than those guys
a bit ahead for me but not massively soI think that’s a fair rating of Kapil though, somewhere close to Starc and Johnson.
Yeah I’m not sure without taking a closer look where exactly I’d go, I don’t really have set rankings beyond a certain point, but somewhere around them feels right, whether above, below, or in between.a bit ahead for me but not massively so
So I godon't really think Kapil is an ATVG bowler but he is very good, above Starc/Johnson/Gillespie types
You said he's great, and as Great is just below ATG by your standards, can you agree that Kapil is close to being an ATG, but falls short? So I go
All Time Great
Great
World Class
Very Good / above test standard
Test Standard
Etc etc.
Let's say he's world class, but when you look at the fact they he played in the 80's of all decades, even that isn't indisputable.
All I'm saying
I have 40 sure shot ATG's and about 10 that's borderline. He's not in that 10.You said he's great, and as Great is just below ATG by your standards, can you agree that Kapil is close to being an ATG, but falls short?
Sure. I'm asking whether he is close to being in that 10.I have 40 sure shot ATG's and about 10 that's borderline. He's not in that 10.
I have bowlers like Courtney Walsh and Waqar in the "great" or what you call ATVG category. Kapil isn't in that tier as a bowler.ATVG Bowler + 30 plus avg batsman = ATG.
If an ATVG bowler remains ATVG cricketer even after scoring 5000+ runs, whats the point of scoring all those runs![]()
He is deflecting because he called Kapil an above test standard bowler. No, but he is an ATVG and better than his numbers; plus a 30 averaging batsman and a good fielder and captain. Even if he's not ATG overall, he's close.
Since when is very good = above test standard? So I go
All Time Great
Great
World Class
Very Good / above test standard
Test Standard
Kapil not being a World Class bowler is laughable tbh..... Yes, 80s were bowler friendly, and no, that wasn't for India. It's like saying Roberts wasn't Great because WI had so many ATG bowlers around then and shortly after.Since when is very good = above test standard?
You are playing with words deliberately because you got caught trying to diminish Kapil.
No he said Kapil is an 'above test standard bowler'. Basically like a Sarfraz Nawaz/Kaspa level bowler.Kapil not being a World Class bowler is laughable tbh..... Yes, 80s were bowler friendly, and no, that wasn't for India. It's like saying Roberts wasn't Great because WI had so many ATG bowlers around then and shortly after.
Kyear agreeing with you on something should cause you to doubt your existence.Ignore @kyear2
im not sure he’s Don Quixote or Sancho Panza but he’s definitely tilting at windmills
I consider Waqar and Walsh ATGs.I have bowlers like Courtney Walsh and Waqar in the "great" or what you call ATVG category. Kapil isn't in that tier as a bowler.
