Which cricketers go on each countries Mount Rushmore?

Fuller Pilch

Cricket Web: All-Time Legend
My understanding was that the Mount Rushmore presidents were chosen respectively to represent birth (as an independent nation), growth, development and preservation.

The first chronological name for each cricketing nation would have to be someone from the early days, such as Nayudu for India, or perhaps Mankad from the period immediately following political independence. It wouldn't be Ranji as he was too closely associated with the British.

Grace might represent growth for English cricket but not birth. It was established long before he appeared.

Learie Constantine might be a candidate for first name on the West Indian list.
John Small might do.
John Small - birth;
Fuller Pilch - growth;
WG Grace - development
Ben "saving test cricket" Stokes - preservation

I liked this approach far more. So I will go:

Australia: Fred Spoforth (Birth), Victor Trumper (Development), Don Bradman (Growth), Allan Border (Preservation)

England: John Small (Birth), WG Grace (Development), Jack Hobbs (Growth), Ian Botham (Preservation)

West Indies: Learie Constantine (Birth), Frank Worrell (Development), Garry Sobers (Growth), Viv Richards (Preservation)

South Africa: Jimmy Sinclair (Birth), Aubrey Faulkner (Development), Graeme Pollock/Basil D'Oliveira (Growth, in 2 ways), Jacques Kallis (Preservation)

India: CK Nayudu (Birth), MAK Pataudi (Development), Kapil Dev (Growth), Sachin Tendulkar (Preservation)

Pakistan: Hanif Mohammad (Birth), Fazal Mahmood (Development), Imran Khan (Growth), Wasim Akram (Preservation)

New Zealand: Jack Cowie (Birth), John Richard Reid (Development), Richard Hadlee (Growth), Kane Williamson (Preservation)

Sri Lanka: Tommy Kelaart (Birth), Mahadevan Sathasivam (Development), Aravinda de Silva (Growth), Mutthiah Muralitharan (Preservation)

Good list.

For NZ, Tom Lowry instead of Cowie imo.

Good list.

For NZ, Tom Lowry instead of Cowie imo.
Thought about it but think quality is also a bit important. Lowry was more instrumental in the process of birth, while Cowie put NZ in the global map as a young nation. By quality, Cowie made NZ XI while Lowry none of the first 10 (I wanted him in the 10th tbf)
Another confusing were the first 2 for Pak. Hanif and Fazal are way too close in timeline.

Unironically Chanderpaul fits preservation here perfectly.
