How much did slip cordons affect Marshall's and Wasim's records?

I personally do not think mental toughness should not be a metric to judge a bowler. Marshall was simply better. Fullstop.
Mental toughness has different dimensions. Being able to reserve your best performance for the big occasions, being able to overcome tough conditions, being able to bounce back, not being indisciplined or subject to losses in form due to offfield issues. I think it affects bowling standing.

Marshall isn't the outlier, all of the top guys had good support, including the referenced McGrath.
At one point Pigeon had a cordon of Taylor, Waugh and Warne, and never had anything below AT quality. And neither did the rest of them.
