What alternatives are there? Maybe it should be a quarter of the ball rather than half, but ultimately, we’re not dealing with things that have happened, we’re dealing with projections of what we think will happen, you have to allow some margin of error

I still have a feeling this could be over quickly. India and pressure historically haven't mixed well. Pant and Rahul might throw some punches, or they might bundle out quickly. It may sound arrogant of ENG batting coach Trescothick to say they'll take 6 wickets in the 1st session, but he may not be wrong to be fair. The only silver lining is that after the 1st hour (if India's top order batters last that long), the ball will get softer. Over the years, I've learned not to expect big from India in these type of situations, though. If England win, they'll thoroughly deserve it after defending an under par total.

Why do you think I give a ****?

Getting rid of umpire's call is the most fair way of doing things, as it takes things out of the hands of the umpire who could be biased or under pressure to give a certain call for any given reason. And making things the most fair is what matters.
