How's the pink ball taking affect under lights? Only got ABC radio of this in the background and they're not saying too much about the conditions.

Certainly an interesting deck to drop Lyon on. Decent part of it would be they know Webster bowls offies, but by the same token it looks the sort of pitch which his seamers will be handy on

Smith still looks orders of magnitude better than anyone else on decks which do a lot. I maintain a large part of that is he bats like an old school player and doesn’t plonk on the front foot as early as nearly everyone else these days.
We’re probably better off playing an extra batsmen unless hazelwood is injured or something (if you absolutely had to drop lyon that is…which I wouldn’t)

It was zipping around a fair bit before the lights came on tbh. They haven't done themselves many favours by only having bowled 67 over til now, so they haven't had the benefit of a new ball under lights. Ball is pretty soft now but it's still moving quite a bit off the deck. A new ball about now would not be much fun to face.

Don't mind this approach from Aus tbh. Yeah it looks like a collapse but it's more important that they just get to an okay total and have a bowl.

We'll see if the tactic is worth it but they're only getting 40 mins with the ball.
Likely 40 mins of mayhem mind you.

Australia need at least another wicket to partly justify their reckless batting display earlier.

They could have easily batted into session one tomorrow and got closer to 250/270

Not sure how I feel about how we approached this. We definitely left runs out there, smith in particular looked really good before he came out post dinner and started swinging. Don't think our pacers backed up Cummins decision, felt like he were either too short or too wide and didn't keep the stumps in play enough. Apparently both the Windies openers are injured anyway so there basically 3 down right now? On the back of that i'de say it's out day, but still not hugely happy with how we played that last session.

They're having scans which is why they weren't there to bat but they'll probably come out and bat anyway. Pinkballdinneritis perhaps.

Well we ended up batting under lights anyway and only got 9 in at them. It might have been a plan but I'm not convinced it was a good one.
