Is it though? Both are equally Great/Good in WI and SA, Shakib is decent in Pakistan where Jadeja never played while Jadeja is pretty good in Australia. Shakib decent in NZ, and good in England while Jadeja is poor there. On the otherhand, Shakib sucked in India hard, while Jadeja was great in SL were Shakib sucked. Think they are pretty equalish away altogether. Jadeja is just an overall much better bowler and don't think their batting gap in that big.

Overall Jadeja is surprisingly consistent around the board with the bat
Australia: 34.44
England: 34.83
New Zealand: 35.66
West Indies: 39
India: 37.46
It's 2.66 in SA and 85 in SL, but he batted there for 3 and 2 innings respectively .

Jadeja the better bowler, but Shakib a bit better as a batsman. Got to go Jadeja overall though, unless he has a massive end of career slump.

Don't really rate shakib, but are we really gonna take jadeja's average on face value? Anyway jadeja is easily better. Shakib averages 34 with the ball without minnow bashing series. One of the most overrated test cricketers ever.

Definitely better than Stokes. Possibly better than Jadeja. Elite white ball cricketer.
If he'd been English he'd be ahead of Botham as their greatest allrounder and he would've played more tests than Jimmy Anderson.

How would that help him surpass Botham? Would just end up having way less spin friendly home conditions and would have to play 21 or more Tests in Australia which is the ultimate spinner graveyard, 17 in India where he has a pretty bad record too. Would also have to bat against Australia, South Africa and India way more.

Say 180+ tests with a batting average of 37/38 and bowling of 30 would rate ahead of Botham.
Botham had 102 tests and averaged 33.5 and 28.4.

His bowling average with Asia as home venue is 31.72 but with England as home venues with 20+ Tests in Australia (he has zero at the moment) would definitely get him to 30, what a joke.

He wouldn't need to bowl as many overs in unfavourable conditions, would get more of a
chance against the tail/new batters etc. Also opposition players wouldn't be able to play him out.
Also perhaps he'd average closer to 40 with the bat as would have been able to bat 6/7 rather 5/6 a lot more if playing for England.

Not taking his batting average at face value, but he has relatively few not outs everywhere. Just found it interesting he averages around the same anywhere he batted more than thrice.

Yeah sure, Shakib averages 122 balls an inning away from home, Bashir does 150 balls an innings away from home, Leach did 157 an innings, I'm sure his workload would be reduced. He won't get any dibs on the tail enders, as the pacers would target them and on top, the actual issue of you know, having to bowl consistently at roads or seamy roads at home with nothing for spinners as we see with Jadeja.
Anderson played 36% of his games against the strongest bowling units, Australia and South Africa, Shakib had to do that for less than 10, guess that hits batting average too. 20+ Tests in Australia where he'd be lucky to even average 40 too, probably 45-50.
So No, won't have a better career with England, Stop deluding yourself.
