he just seems super nervous. Clearly can bat, but is playing way in front of his body or losing his shape. Needs to relax.

Pretty typical of technically correct batsmen who have hard hands, these batsmen were a dime a dozen in Aus in the mid 00s and early 10s
His weakness against short of a length balls that move away is pretty terminal though. That's a Test bowler's stock ball when they just want a dot ball, you can't be nicking those with regularity.
