500 with 110 overs would be perfect carrot to bazballers
Jamie Smith barely faced Bumrah in the first test...we can have this convo again after the Ashes then, if India's bowling attack does not suffice as good enough
I think in 93 there were blokes like Ilott, Ealham, Caddick and McCague having a crack. Very very grim indeed
93 was filth
Yeah terrible. 89 was rubbish too but some of those blokes had ok reputations and were probably just past it. The 93 outfit was properly horrendous
He is gun player of spin but bad vs pace and swinggood bowling by Carse here on a flat pitch but truth be told, Nair is not an international Batsman
nah at least 550 in 110 overs. England bat at 5 runs per over.500 with 110 overs would be perfect carrot to bazballers
Why do you keep talking about dangling the carrot . There is no carrot . They're going to bat the same way no matter what target is set.500 with 110 overs would be perfect carrot to bazballers
Hi Sara.He is equally impressive without Pant aswell?
90s india was greatest spin bashing teamHaha I remember in 1993 England came to India and that is when Azhar brought his famous 3 spinners trademark - Kumble, Chauhan and Raju. England saw that in the first test and played a similar trio (at least in their heads) of Tufnell, Salisbury and Emburey. Boy was it fun watching the second day of the second test at Chennai, every Indian batter got their licks in at that attack, lol.
Need to get root out quicklynah at least 550 in 110 overs. England bat at 5 runs per over.
In 2022, they chased 378/3 in 75 overs against Bumrah and Shami. Have the clear potential to chase 500+ in 100 overs on a highway like this against this weakish attack.
The most vivid memory I have of Caddick is him getting smashed all around Christchurch by Astle.Andy Caddick was quality aswell
You don’t seriously think England is a chance of winning the Ashes here do you? Come onwe can have this convo again after the Ashes then, if India's bowling attack does not suffice as good enough
Fraser was the best Pommy bowler since John Snow. Was a shame injuries crueled him. This will be my annual post pointing out that Fraser was absolute quality and very underappreciated.
Gough and Fraser were the only two actually good pacers england had for any stretch in that decade. Headley was probably the best one by far , just couldn't stay fit.
was this the series where one of the English lads said that Kumble doesn't spin the ball an inch and Anil proceeded to murder them?Haha I remember in 1993 England came to India and that is when Azhar brought his famous 3 spinners trademark - Kumble, Chauhan and Raju. I agree, had he not dissapeared for years between 1990-94, could've had a stellar career. This will be my annual post pointing out that Fraser was absolute quality and very underappreciated.

...by not spinning the ball an inchwas this the series where one of the English lads said that Kumble doesn't spin the ball an inch and Anil proceeded to murder them?
I guess. It was also a series where Hick got a fifer.was this the series where one of the English lads said that Kumble doesn't spin the ball an inch and Anil proceeded to murder them?
like that Barnes quote...by not spinning the ball an inch
He got squared up very easily against what were pretty average short of a length balls that he should have defended off the back foot comfortably or, better, left alone. Eventually nicked off pushing at one having been "dropped" that way about three overs earlier.Didn’t watch it - was Nair that bad?
Was already hoping he’d do well just because of the comeback story, but seeing him safe in the cordon makes me want him to do well even more. Won’t be surprised if it gives him the edge over Sai to get selected again.
