2nd Test (Edgbaston) - July 2nd

England playing with 3 bowlers on a typical Edgbaston wicket of recent times.

I know we won the first game chasing but India offered up two huge lifelines in either innings.

I don't get why he chose to chase again, offering the other team the chance to rack up 400+ doesn't make much sense.

If we had a top bowling attack I'd get it but Bashir and Tongue are miles off it.

Edit: of course Tongue is actually a gun it what I meant to say

So where does Jadeja rate among the great all rounders?

His bowling is obviously not as effective overseas but it’s only really England & NZ where he hasn’t contributed

He’s a good bat and a great fielder
Somewhere at the top.
Not too many all-rounders in his league!

i did say earlier that i feel like india are due a massive score or 2 this series. i just didn't expect it to be in this innings.

Whatever is going on (baz-ball, wrong toss decision, flat pitch, dry spring, wrong selection, whatever really), being 400-odd for 6 at lunch day 2 is never a bad thing.

Bashir has to be replaced. We look toothless

But when we are batting the sparks will fly and India will struggle

Spicy English wickets would be back when the English bowling and batting units are more on level with each other and the team isn't entirely reliant on their bats to win, until then, live with what you have.

He somehow finds a way to make himself useful most games. He shouldn't play as our lead spinner overseas but that's a mistake that's on the selectors.
