Whatever it takes!!!
Its not bad but its really even stevens even now with our tail and their batting line up and our bowling line up.

We batted for 5 sessions in Headingley and still it was barely enough to eke out a token lead. There is no chance here of anything other than another defeat. :(

Would've been England's day if not for Gill and Jaiswal's fantastic contributions.

Very responsible innings from Gill on a wicket that had decent seam movement. English bowlers were also hitting the right lengths today.

Without Bumrah, India would need at least a 100 runs extra on this wicket. So Gill and Jadeja need to bat long tomorrow.

Lol, England got bowled out for 150 on a flat one by Sri Lanka not that long ago. They got skittled for 130 on a highway in NZ back in December. A lollapse at some point in this series is inevitable. Cross your fingers it's tomorrow.

The Indian bowling unit is pretty abhorent, Three bowlers, all three ranging from ok to poor, one military medium nothing bowler, a nothing spinner in England (Jadeja) and Washi, obviously a lollapse is always possible but If England gets going it's probably a 550+ day.

What if India make 550 first? England dont always respond well under pressure of a big score. Or even a moderate one, like when they were shot out by the Slankans at the oval last year.

England’s bowlers and Stokes have been pretty good with their plans. Even if the bowlers are not the most skilled (Tongue and Bashir) they were constantly bowling to a plan. If it failed they’d move on to the next thing.

First session was all about pitching it up and trying to find swing but other than Woakes it didn’t work out - so they switched immediately to bashing it into the deck which worked for a while. Then they targeted Jaiswal’s hip for a while and even got him to sky one.

With Bashir, tempting Pant into the shot was all planned too. Gave him a false sense of security by bringing mid on up but had cow corner straight enough to be able to run in and take a catch at long on.

Need that sort of stuff on flatter decks.

Round 1 to Woakes in the battle of the generational (maybe GOAT battle?) allrounders between him and NK Reddy.

Reddy will be ready to bowl and get his revenge on Woakes during England's innings. Hope Reddy also readies his readies for a night out on Birmingham as well.
