The bloke is obviously a walk up start to India's ATG side but how much longer a rope do they give Jadeja? His bowling seems to have fallen off a cliff in the last 12 months and he's not quite what he was with the bat either, and they probably want to get Washington in the team sooner than later.
Must say I was shocked at how bad Jadeja was in Australia. Maybe he was disadvantaged by the ball remaining new (though he takes plenty of new ball wickets in India) but I was amazed at how many freebies he gave for someone I associated with pinpoint accuracy.

He's been crap overseas for some time now. Even at home, his effectiveness has diminished. Totally dependent on dustbowls to take wickets. I agree he really has lost his accuracy (home and away).

Kuldeep being left out is absolute madness. Does Gambhir remember that you have to take 20 wickets to win a game (most of the time anyway)?

One hopes this isn't a case of personal relationships coming over actual performance.
Yeah.
According to coaching staff, at the moment it's a 50-50 toss up between playing Sundar and Kuldeep. Maybe common sense will prevail in the end. 24 hrs to go.

How could you have any personal issues with a loveable little Oompa Loompa like Kuldeep?

GG was instrumental in Kuldeep coming back to the reckoning via KKR tbh.

Yeah I expected him to be pretty good based on past experience, or at least dependable, but he was dogshit. A big reason why Aus' bats were able to work their way back into the series. It's not like he had the excuse of not knowing how to bowl on Aus decks.

He is 37 and lost his pin point accuracy. He should be dropped for sundar

Kuldeep's not a silver bullet, and I can imagine there'll be fallout if he gets tonked, but it's lunacy to not give him the chance - and that despite my general dislike of wrist spinners. There's every chance the pitch will have three-fifths of stuff-all life in it and there's nothing in Washington's bowling to suggest he can do more than hold on end in these conditions.

Two very, very mediocre outfits going at it on what will doubtless be another lifeless road served up in an effort to hide the home side's inability to play anything which deviates more than 0.2 of a millimeter. Let the paint drying begin for those stupid enough to be invested in this abject non-event.
I wish I could disagree but I can’t. England vs India right now is the equivalent of watching women’s tennis
