Green just isn't a #3. That was clear from the WTC finals. Inglis and him really should have swapped spots in the order

Nightwatchman out now. Can't see the West Indies getting more than 120-130 at this rate. Their batting is too timid.

if a country ever needed bazballing....

50-60 years ago, it would be absurd to suggest West Indies in future would lack batting positivity.

The problem is they can't do either. If they play aggressively, they end up falling cheaply through rash shots like what happened in the 2nd test run chase against SA last year. But whenever they play defensive, it ends up being too attritional that the pressure cooker builds up pretty quick (Brathwaite is a case in point). They're pretty much carried by their bowlers at the moment, particularly at home.

better to go out with your swords out than to go out while hiding in a shell.

In the 50th anniversary of our World Cup win, Sir Clive Lloyd made a 100 in 85 balls.
Sir Viv paved the way for modern attacking batsmen

And now we are left with meek batsmen batting like they’ve never held a cricket bat in their lives.

I expect this batting lineup to not improve. Keeping Kraigg in here so that he can become the worst player to play 100 test matches

Absurd.

Why has that back of a length ball in the channel been such an issue since the 2023 ashes? Swear marnus, usman and marsh's declines can all be explained by that ball.

Chase and King negotiate the last few overs to stumps on Day 1. Overall a mixed bag for both teams. Australia were ordinary with the bat, but are already ahead of the game thanks to the brilliance of Starc, Hazlewood, and Cummins. This is why they, along with Nathan Lyon, are among the greatest bowling lineups in history. There was some controversy, with a questionable umpiring decision regarding a catch at slip that was adjudged not out for Travis Head.

WI were excellent with the ball, a few dropped catches notwithstanding. Shamar, Seales, Joseph, and Greaves look like the real deal. But they were unable to play out the remaining of day's play without further damage. They'll have their work cut out for them tomorrow. The goal should be to get as close to 180 as possible. But due to their depth, or lack thereof, 180 seems a long way away.

Jayden and Shemar bowl with such fire and can genuinely become one of the great Bowling partnerships if their career progresses properly, bad thing they are stuck playing with such a horrible batting though, deserve much more. Hope Windies is able to develope a good, positive batting core, seems unlikely at the moment but eh George Headley basically came out of nowhere, never say never.
