1st Test (Leeds) - 20th June

Since Akashdeep and Sai haven't played even the second Ind A vs Eng Lions game, there's a good chance they might not play in the first test. Jurel for Sai and Prasidh for Akashdeep might be the likely alternatives

Weather may come into play but I feel it will like an away game for England crowd wise

hopefully a result but betting wise I’m leaning on the draw

Weather set fair for the first 3 days. I'd be rather disinclined to think there will be a draw given the way England bat. Leeds (West Yorkshire) weather - Met Office

Come to think of it, the rain affected Old Trafford test in 2023 Ashes is the last time England drew a match. That is the only one in the Stokes/McCullum era.

Why? The vast majority of Yorkshire's Asian population are British Pakistanis, not a demographic renowned for their support of the Indian test team.

And I have no idea why anyone would back a draw when England are playing. Five days of sunshine forecast, they'll look to score 400 plus in a day when batting, which is sure to offer up opportunities to Bumrah, whilst the Indian batting line up is inexperienced tstl. Be surprised if it lasted 4 days tbh.

It doesnt really matter, the Pakistan supporters probably aren't going and the minority of India fans in the region (plus the east mids) are surely enough to sell out Headingley. I doubt it'll 'feel like an away game', but there'll be plenty of support for both teams.

The same demography is true of Birmingham, but I still couldn't get a ticket in the Edgbaston ballot for an India game.

Huh. I'd have guessed it was closer to a 50/50 split between those with antecedents in India and those with theirs in Pakistan in Brum.

& ditto, ftr. Got one for the Windies ODI though, which I couldn't take up because I was shitting through the eye of a needle.

I mean the Indian attack is weak but at least Siraj has had his moments in test cricket and Bumrah, but these have to be the biggest group of randos England has ever thrown out in a test match bowling attach
