Statistically Smith’s series looks little better.

Viv scoring both of his double hundreds at stroke rate of 75+ in 1976 must have been breathtaking

That's still a very good attack. Certainly better than the England one in 2019. If they had Anderson I would call 2019 better.

I never considered Broad as a good bowler.
It was Archer’s first series but he was fun to watch.

Yeah he bowled a short one and injured Smith

if he bowled the same one to Viv, the ball would be in the stands.

He was inconsistent but could singlehandedly win games by himself, a bit similar to Sehwag in a sense. India 2011 series forward, he took 500 wickets @ 25.8 so definitely a good bowler.

Broad when he is on he is absolutely on fire but but when he is off he is just your random trundler

No, but the underlying point is the same. Most people that watched him bat didnt think he was special either, and there are other factors too as to why he isn't rated that high, but that's certainly one of them.

Ken’s numbers are on par with the best ever.

This is not comparing Broad to Ken, this about comparing Broad to guys like Snow etc. He has very good numbers for that range with the longevity whilst playing in a ridiculously flat era

Voted Smith because he had less support and 1976 was a run-heavy English summer. Holding was arguably the most impressive WI performer considering that.

Broad may have lacked elite level consistency but on his good days was as good as any ATG quicks, including Marshall/Hadlee/McGrath. Hill I'm willing to die on.
