I think if you were to ask the great batsmen of the era as to who was the toughest bowler they faced, Akram would probably have a higher peer rating than Warne.

Yeah he got player of the series. And that lbw decision wasn't even the most horrendous decision of the tour. He got 1/2 worse ones

He said McGrath once I recall when they asked the same of Gavsaskar who said Roberts. I guess he felt embarrassment to say Cronje then.

Akram is reviewed as the greatest bowler of all time. Even if Warne is reviewed like that, he is more closer to that spot than Akram.
Akram gets overrated for his swing and entertainment, although in ODI’s I wouldn’t call him overrated.
