Up until the hard tyre stint, the commentators actually pointed out correctly that Piastri has had the pure pace advantage in both quali and races this year more often than not. Aside from Australia and that second stint, I don’t think I can remember when Lando was faster. (I have no idea about at Japan)

I still think Lando may have slightly more raw pace as a driver. I think Piastri’s racecraft is better and he’s improved a lot from last year with tyre management and understanding of the car.
That’s probably fair. If Lando slots in behind Max at the first bend yesterday he probably wins the race.

Having said that, how many more times does Max get away with his ‘take the inside line, force everyone else off’ strategy?

As much as he can in the past at least. I think the commentators actually did a pretty good job during the race explaining how the rules had changed re: giving space and whose corner it is. Felt like there was confusion about which type that corner was or because it was a chicane.

Nah, drivers need to stop hanging on around the outside when they've lost the corner then whining because they've run themselves out of room.

I do hate the constant whining of every driver on the radios. Would be awesome to have a driver who doesn’t. Think Oscar is probably the closest of the top ones?

So Alpine has followed Red Bull’s lead. Doohan is being replaced by Colapinto. (“for the next 5 races”)

Hasn’t had the best start to the season and has been heard to publicly criticise the team for their mistakes (like it may have been warranted but c’mon mate as a rookie have a bit of sense). Harsh I guess.

Then again, I think we’re all a bit excited to see what Colapinto might be able to do. Then again, Lawson looked really good in his first replacement stint for Ricciardo and has tapered off since so lets see.

Just passing through to contemplate how in 20 or so years F1 has evolved from brand like Toyota and Renault, to Aston Martin, Mercedes and Cadillac

Turns out I did jinx Alonso. Really loving how well Williams is performing as I’m sure many of us are. rip Piastri who had bad timing as did LeClerc. Quality recovery for Tsunoda, think he was also helped by that first VSC iirc but still.

Hermann deserved it too, with that move of the year on lap 1, solidifying his case for the GOAT even more @Coronis
Oh yes that’s totally convinced me. He’s still not there yet. He’s in the Prost/Senna level below the big 3 that I would consider.

Let's go Williams

Never expected to be a fan but here we are.

Hadjar low key looks a talent, subject to performance against Lindblad. Crushing a bloke who scored solid results last year.

Wowee, rip Mercedes. Cracker of a lap from Norris. Great to see Lawson in Q3. Also curious what happened with Albon

Except making the cars smaller (which ain't happening for the foreseeable future), there's nothing than can be really done though unless you want to change the track itself
I don’t know the solution personally. All I know is somethings got to give. Unless you’re first, its a horrible experience in the race for every driver. And its a **** experience as a fan.

I never look forward to Monaco. The two mandatory pit stops was never going to work.

Well done Lando though.

I used to work for a wealthy guy and did the ultimate Monaco race experience: private jet, boat in the marina with “models” in the spa, movie stars blah blah blah

Would have cost millions & I wouldn’t go again for free (again) and don’t even waste your time going into town

Bahrain was more fun and nobody will ever admit that
