Smith and Border have faced some of the better England post-war attacks. TOTAB got to cash in late i his career from 89 onwards, but he played against peak Botham and Willis home and away. Smith's record against some of the stronger England attacks in England is insane tbh. His 2019 series alone puts him in the highest echelon. It was ridiculous batting. 774 runs in 3.5 tests ffs. Could well have beaten Bradman's series record if he hadn't got bonced.

The Don only needed 7 innings for the record, it's just fair that the two who have come the closest in England played 7 too, in Richards (1976, 829 runs) and Smith (2019, 774 runs).
