Not denying it
But to reach the masses you need a good story

You only do it when you're trying to crucify Lara, but there are some, even within the past week that have stated that he's clear of all but Hobbs, and with a clear gap, including @capt_Luffy , @Patience and Accuracy+Gut , even @Coronis stating that he's clear of Sobers as well. How many portray Tendulkar that way on CW? Don't make a false presentation.
I don't think he is ever or rarely presented as having no competition with Hobbs and Sobers or even Viv.
For the nth time, clear does not mean big.You only do it when you're trying to crucify Lara, but there are some, even within the past week that have stated that he's clear of all but Hobbs, and with a clear gap, including @capt_Luffy , @Patience and Accuracy+Gut , even @Coronis stating that he's clear of Sobers as well.
The only distinction that Sachin has is his longevity, because even in his own era he was never clear of Lara initially and then the plethora of batters in the 2000's.
His record against the great bowlers of the 90's isn't exactly how it's portrayed by some either and besides @Johan everyone tried to ignore it.
I think Sachin is superb and has a good an argument as any to be the best after Bradman and for me that's a small group of exactly 4. But to suggest that he's somewhat superceded the others and in a little tier of his own, is a bit far.
As far as Smith goes, he's easily cleared those 2nd tier of batsmen with whom he's statistically comparable, the Ponting's, Kallis's etc, partially because he has continued to be productive in this live pitch era. But at this point in his career he's statistically basically still Ponting Sanga etc. He's done enough to be above them and firmly entrenched in my top 8 (currently 6th), but a bit more to be in the best after Bradman primary conversation or to be fully compared to those 4 guys.
That's just my personal opinion.
You forgot Hendren.Bradman
Hobbs/Tendulkar/Sobers/Hutton/Lara/Smith/Viv/Gavaskar
Hammond/Sutcliffe/Pollock/Border/Kallis/Sangakkara/Chappell/Waugh/Root/Ponting/Dravid/Barrington/Trumper
Weekes/Nourse/Miandad/Walcott/ABD/Compton/Harvey/Younis/Williamson/Kohli/Kanhai/May/Boycott/Worrell/Flower/Lloyd/Crowe
Greenidge/Amla/Chanderpaul/Mitchell/Smith/Simpson/Hayden/Cook/Inzamam/Sehwag/McCabe/Pietersen/Laxman/Clarke/Cowdrey/Jayawardene/Gilchrist/Gooch/Herbie/Gower/Yousuf/Lawry/Hazare/Morris/Ponsford/Hanif/Dexter/Hunte/Hussey/Kirsten/Hassett
So even with these supposedly radical pro-Tendulkar opinions they still put Hobbs as a contender to Tendulkar. You only do it when you're trying to crucify Lara, but there are some, even within the past week that have stated that he's clear of all but Hobbs, and with a clear gap, including @capt_Luffy , @Patience and Accuracy+Gut , even @Coronis stating that he's clear of Sobers as well.
Hadlees is solely because he is from NZ.Yeah Hutton is kinda like Hadlee in this regard, super important to English how Hadlee is to Kiwis, but not necessarily a cricketing cultural icon.
Was torn up on him and Thorpe. Probs belongs with Hassett thereYou forgot Hendren.
for a batsman that's supposed to be no 2, he lacks big series where he dominated and won the series for india. dravid and laxman have featured heavily in some of the best wins for india. Even sangakkara has won a series by himself in NZ with some great performances.. sachin fans' arguments are he has a great record(thanks to cricinfo where they checked), longevity and best prodigy..A lot of this is true.
Yet he's then elevated to a point where he's clear of the other guys in his grouping.
None of them are perfect and he's no exception.
Ok can you plz tell me how many series did steve smith won on his own?for a batsman that's supposed to be no 2, he lacks big series where he dominated and won the series for india. dravid and laxman have featured heavily in some of the best wins for india. if sachin was south african, he'd be kallis. smith has surpassed both sachin and kallis. kallis and sachin are consistent run accumulators and almost never changed a series on its head. You only do it when you're trying to crucify Lara, but there are some, even within the past week that have stated that he's clear of all but Hobbs, and with a clear gap, including @capt_Luffy , @Patience and Accuracy+Gut , even @Coronis stating that he's clear of Sobers as well.

I did wonder if he was a bit burnt out after that last Ashes. He very much struggled that SA series, and he hadn’t exactly done well against Bangladesh in that previous series.I sometimes wonder if Smith's ban for being a cheat helped him tbh. Other players never really get such a chance to rest and recharge for such a long period, so it probably helped to prevent him from tailing off. Bit of an advantage he holds in relation to others.
