It's close, but would go with Ambrose over Wasim during that period. Pre surgery there were few better ever imo.Shoaib
Ashwin
Marshall
Wasim
Bishop

Yeah that one was quite close for me. Just personal preference igIt's close, but would go with Ambrose over Wasim during that period. Pre surgery there were few better ever imo.
Or you could go Murali for “**** it, I’m putting this whole team on my back and winning it”I edge it to Warne just because of the ability when nothing is happening to go ' **** it, I'm Warne and I'm winning it for my team'.
You could yeah definitelyOr you could go Murali for “**** it, I’m putting this whole team on my back and winning it”
He also had his home pitches prepared to suit him.You could yeah definitely
Umm no. Lara and Sachin took apart Warne/Murali to an extent that no batsman managed against the likes of Marshall or even Hadlee.Wasn't it once shown that the really elite Batsmen Marshall faced like Gavaskar, Border, etc. have relatively good output against him?? Same for McGrath vs SRT, Lara, etc.
Murali has his moments against Sachin at home though, but I get the overall sentiment here.Umm no. Lara and Sachin took apart Warne/Murali to an extent that no batsman managed against the likes of Marshall or even Hadlee.
Ashwin and Jadeja do to a large extentHe also had his home pitches prepared to suit him.
Besides some seamers in SA, who else had such a home advantage?
So did English bowlers till the 70s.Ashwin and Jadeja do to a large extent
The top 3 for me are definitely ahead for me, it gets tricky to rate from no 4 for me. So Marshall, McGrath and Hadlee are definitely ahead for me but it's tough to compare Steyn, Ambrose, Akram, Imran to Warne and MuraliI probably have the top 5 pacers ahead of the spin duo
Yes Underwood and all the ones before himSo did English bowlers till the 70s.
Wasn't even just those two, that's my point.Umm no. Lara and Sachin took apart Warne/Murali to an extent that no batsman managed against the likes of Marshall or even Hadlee.
As do I at times, but definitely the top 3I probably have the top 5 pacers ahead of the spin duo
Exactly thisAs do I at times, but definitely the top 3
Steyn and Ambrose moves ahead or behind depending on the day.
Yes they do.Ashwin and Jadeja do to a large extent
Ok, that basically includes Trueman and Tyson. So did English bowlers till the 70s.
It's uncanny how similar we see some topics, lol.The top 3 for me are definitely ahead for me, it gets tricky to rate from no 4 for me. So Marshall, McGrath and Hadlee are definitely ahead for me but it's tough to compare Steyn, Ambrose, Akram, Imran to Warne and Murali
True that because I can see a Sehwag (for example)taking apart either spinner regardless of location. He'd only manage that vs Hadlee and co on the flattest of flattest wickets. And even then, the pacers would still have a chanceWasn't even just those two, that's my point.
