Great innings, shame KG ruined the party there. Once again they've got to a defendable total, and once again SA fail to clean up the tail.

Afghanistan was destined to lose this one, they arrested all the momentum in the last game. Such games don't go away from your minds easily. It's reflected in this game.
Had Afghanistan won that game against Australia, no way they would've lost today with that kind of a momentum.

It would've been a Cinderella story if they were to have beaten Australia & then somehow squeaked in 4th place to book a semi's spot & great for cricket.

However,it would've then been shades of India vs Kenya 2003 World Cup semi-final where basically everybody pretty much knew the winner...

The 4 teams we have contesting the semi's are all strong thankfully & no result would surprise me.

True. The 4 teams that played best made the semis at the end of the day.

Afg was never expected to win against Australia so the end result isn't surprising, the issue is they had the game in the bag and managed to lose it.

3 down.

If Afghanistan were still in contention, they'd have won this match imo especially after winning the toss.

At this point, if you win the toss, you have to make SA chase regardless of the venue, weather, lights or dew right??? There seems to be a night and day difference.
