*Official* England in NZ 2023

Quinn Sunde is very slight and hasn't even played for a domestic side yet, but has hit a couple of great shots off England's pace bowlers e.g. that hooked six.

Disappointing to see Young dismissed after a start. Is he going to be our new Mathew Sinclair minus the early 2 double hundreds?

And the 150 in South Africa who had an attack featuring Donald, Pollock, Ntini, Kallis and Kluesener. I had to look up whether it was a road and the next best score for NZ was 39 and our 1st innings total was 298. WAG.

Glad they sent young Heaphy out ahead of Jamieson. Quinn Sunde does look like a good player. Nice punch off the backfoot for four against Broad. Hopefully Akl give him some chances soon.

Who on earth is Sunde? Usually cw is on top of the young hype
He was the keeper and a middle order bat in the under 19 side that went to the WC in South Africa just before Covid. I guess Auckland are pretty well served with Ben Horne. A few of that WC side are slowly coming through, Kristian Clarke, Simon Keene and Joey Field.

Cheering for NZ, but love England's Test cricket under Stokes & McCullum while being disillusioned by our own crappy selections recently.

Stead and Foster remind me of each other. The final guys in the line of a generation. McCullum doesn't have even a bit of the Robertson dynasty but he definitely has the establishment shaking perspective and an injection of life.

Scott Robertson should just coach the Black Caps. Specialist coaches do all the technical stuff anyway. He could breakdance on the pitches of so many teams who think they're safe. Boohoo.

You may be on to something. There's enough experience and staff to cover the technical stuff. Need a coach who inspires.

Hello!
Are England gonna stick with Zak Crawley ?
I was thinking... with the form Jos Buttler is in & with England's new approach to Test cricket, wouldn't he be a good option to open the innings with Ben Duckett ?

Buttler was in England's team before Stokes/McCullum took over. He was there to get the runs down the order, but England were never in a comfortable position for him to be free to play his game.
Now England seem to know how they want to play, I guess he would fit in this team.

Buttler
Duckett
*powerful openers*
Pope
Root
Brook
*very solid middle order*
Stokes (c)
*can destroy or stay in the middle depending on the situation :)*
Foakes (wk)
*best wicketkeeper and very good batter*
Robinson
Broad
Leach
Anderson

yeah Buttler didn’t work as specialist 7 or 6 or as keeper at same positions so sure why not open with him. he also failed in that one instance they did that specifically to do the same job

this myth of Buttler being a Gilchrist waiting to be unlocked needs to die, he’s never been that type of player in tests
