Which bowlers would you pick for these scenarios?

Kirkut

International Regular
ODI/T20s:
Scenario A: 15 runs required off the last over and 1 wicket left, ABDevillíers on strike with tailender.

Scenario B: 2 runs required off the last over, 2 wickets left, Walsh on strike.

Tests:
Scenario C: Day 1, session 1, overcast conditions in Headingley

Scenario D: Batting team chasing 135 in Trent Bridge on a Day 5 worn out, spin-friendly pitch

Scenario E: Dravid, last wicket remaining, batting the last over to save a test in Adelaide.
Scenario A:

Glenn Mcgrath. He can keep it tight and bowl a length that makes it hard for the batsman to connect with the ball. Yorkers won't work here, AB D will smoke it for 6 with his ramp shot.

Scenario B:

Malinga, enough said. The perfect bowler for the ocassion, two yorkers and boom!!!

Scenario C:

James Anderson. Never watched Hadlee bowl though.

Scenario D:

Muttiah Muralidharan. The doosra would be a nightmare on this pitch.

Scenario E:

Someone who can bowl gun barrel straight and at flat out pace. Shoaib Akhtar and peak Flintoff come to mind, maybe Johnson too if he's pitching it up at 152 k's gun barrel straight. Dravid never liked raw pace.

A - Malinga / Bumrah / Waqae / Wasim
B - Ditto
C - McGrath and Marshall
D - Murali / Warne
E - Murali / Warne

Pup Clarke

A - Flintoff
B - Akram
C - Donald
D - Warne easily
E - Ooft Cummins maybe. Just relentless and attacks the stumps so consistently

I'd like to see ABD try his ramp shot on a Garner Yorker.

He will most likely succeed. Out of the famed death bowlers Garner perhaps was the slowest (with possible exception of McGrath). Wasim, Waqar, Malinga and Bumrah all were north of 150k at some time of their career. Malinga and Bumrah in particular bowls slower ball yorkers, which are almost impossible to ramp for a boundary.

Yeah but Garner's yorkers are not swinging but are coming straight from a height of eight feet plus. Very hard to really maneuver them around.

Garner and McGrath are not dissimilar in heights. 6' 8" vs 6' 6". McG I think had longer limbs to compensate for it, and both delievered it from roughly same height. But we have taken McG taken to cleaners by some batsmen. There is nothing to suggest a batsman as good as ABdV is not able to do so.

On other hand Malinga and Bumrah, due to inherent inconsistencies of their actions, produce subtle natural variations much more. Much more than Wasim and Waqar.

Wasim could reverse yorker it both ways which none of them can do consistently.

People picking Anderson as a swing specialist... why not Alderman? Crazy record in England, and 19 wickets in 2 games at Headingley

Anderson has always had a surprisingly poor record at Headingley, probably not the best pick for that one.
